Nothing sadder than an old high milage high end car. Faded glory. That's what you end up with when you start with a middle aged mid mileage car. The more complex, the more systems something has, you are at the mercy of the repair industry. Owning that hardly impresses anyone, maybe some strangers, is all. Your family, your friends, cousins overseas in war torn countries shake their heads behind your back. I've seen it up close. Nobody can talk sense into that boy.

Most used car finance rates I've seen are horrendous. What rate are you planning on financing at? Also, you are planning on financing 15-35K, that is !2-4 years of payments, I would be nervous about writing a 4 year loan on a 5 year old car.

As far as space goes, if people can carry a bicycle on a 250 honda, you can get kitesurfing gear in any car. You didn't mention if you need 2 people + gear, that could get tighter, but with 1 person, you really would have trouble finding a car that couldn't accomodate your gear.

remember there's a lot of gtam users that are anti-people-having-money.

So it probably isn't a good idea to ask about floating a huge loan on a used car?

Sonny once financed 75k for a 7 year old Bentley

I'm still paying off the loan I took for a sweet 94 Mustang GT. In 2015 she's all mine!!!

Its a 36 month term, tops. But I hear your point. Last thing I want is to be paying a loan of a broken car.

I'd still be leery of buying any used unwarranted high end car.

You were going to piss money away on financing a large sum of money, Just go with one of these Porsche lease specials. http://porschecentre.ca/specials/

Late model car, full warranty, free maintenance (cayman), and you won't tie up as much capital all at once. Invest the money you were going to put down on a junky used car into something else.

the loan will outlast the car.

Hehehehe.

Here's my input. I've done the whole shebang about luxury cars. Right about now in my life I just need something that would just be reliable & get the job done. To me there is no luxury other than having your car work when you need it. If I were to get another luxury car, I would lease it for 4 yrs & get rid of it when the warranty is over

All cars have had problems, I did read up on the aston forums regarding repairs. But with a warranty, whats the big deal?

Dont listen to all these experts about cars blowing up. Cars now are built to last , even high end exotics. I bought my first used lamborghini murcielago after reading about Simon George and his 300,000 mile one that had spent most of its life at track days, I had the same worry about reliability but it's mostly BS. I have owned many cars new and old, exotic and customs and have never had a major failure on any of them
