Car battery

I called CT today and yes they will test the battery for free, however, I need to remove it from my car and bring it in...silliness if you ask me...

Hyundai charges $45 for a test, and an OEM battery is $209...

A lot of us have a tester. You are far from me though so it's not worth you driving up here to get a ten second test done.

If it was me, i would not worry about it, if the heat this summer didn’t kill it, not likely the winter cold will kill neither

im with your pro active hubby on this one.

the battery is 7 years old - it owes you nothing. yes, it may last another 12 months, or 12 weeks... ive had batteries that were still putting out 12.7 to 12.8 volts (standing)but not performing as they should anymore.

taking the battery out and bringing it in for a load test? if Im getting my hands dirty, and putting my coveralls on, lets make the work and time worthwhile and replace.

winter is coming, for me it makes more sense to change that battery before the snow flies - rather than taking a chance it will die mid winter, at the worst possible time or place.

just my opinion.
