Can't use space when quoting another post...

The quick reply option at the bottom of a thread (ie, clicking the "+ Reply To Thread" below the last post in the thread) lets the space bar work fine...but if you use the "Reply With Quote" option on a post inline with the thread (but not the last one), the space bar doesn't work unless you switch to the full editor from the quick reply box.

Reply with quote works if you just type any letter then hit return, then type your message.

Does a weird thing like placing the next line after a return before the first line....like this one which is the 2nd line typed...or corrections jump a line up.
seems it acting up a bit with FF too.
