Canadian Anti-Terrorism Bill

It has support from the Libs and NDP are reviewing. The direction this is heading in is worrisome.

If only those seat warmers had a clue that eventually some of these powers will be used to catch and prosecute dirty politicians.

If I dont get blown up standing on a train platform, sitting at a sporting event or on a plane I'm ok with it. It has a few over the tops, but its a first reading and may be rewritten here and there.

The civil liberties we take for granted are being reduced because of these radicalized idiots wishing doom and failure to the civilized world. Show them no mercies and we can get back to the good life.

Civil liberties are being reduced because we're letting it happen. And once they go, they're never coming back.

Sadly talking about it doesn't seem to do much, most people i know are "meh, i got nothing to hide", except maybe they do, and they don't know it. who you talk to even as an acquaintance can affect you... what you download/read/search on the internet can affect you.

Sadly I've never had a response from my MP or any other MP other than being signed up to their email spam crap.

One thing's for certain, cooler heads will not prevail. We're going to hell in a hand cart. This power will be abused. It's the way of the people.

I like that everyone is freaking out over a bill but didn't when these idiots got elected. No one saw stuff like this coming? Seriously?

Why would we see it coming? They promised to get rid of one of the most insidious laws in this country, The Firearms Act of 1995 (bill C-6) enacted by the Chretien Liberals that suspended the rights of any gun owner without due process of law. They never did that, they only got rid of the gun registry. Now they are going after the internet under the guise of fighting terrorism and any other excuse. In truth this is all about enforcing copyright law and gaining control of the internet to stymie free speech.
