Sheer wasn’t the only one rehearsing when they would fit in a nice little jab.

However, there was no steak from any of them regarding what they plan to do better.


We can all be excellent at being critical arm chair quarterbacks but, I didn’t hear leadership from any of them.

I watched the highlights

Singh - no real argument just trying to look smart with his higher morality comments
Trudeau - same thing different day
May - only the environment matter **** everything else
Blanchet - everyone must speak french
Sheer - let's save everyone money by cutting taxes
Bernier - I hate everyone who isn't born canadian

Didn't realize how much a fascist Bernier is.

Some of the candidate for the far left are crazy. It's all about let's do things that make you feel good and everyone holds hands under the rainbow singing. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work this way. It has to be balanced with all the interests of the country.

We really need a leader who can bring the debt under control and spend on growing the country.

Whats fascist about discussing immigration?
 
I kind of wish May wasn't a green. She was the smartest of the bunch leading one of the less enticing parties (not much meat). Bernier is a loon. Scheer sounded like he was on a respirator taking gulps of oxygen between statements (an unfortunate public speaking ailment). The Block Quebecois guy should be doing infomercial voiceovers. Trudeau sounds like someone I'd punch.

Stuff the Bloc was saying was unreal.

"your constitution, not mine" (Yes i'm aware of the status of Quebec in regards to our constitution)
"the other side" (Alberta
"provinces AND quebec"

Sure the premise is a platform entrenched in division but man, right in your face about it.
 
It was like watching children argue over one another yesterday....I kinda wish May was leading an actual party with a chance in hell.

Honestly it's a toss up b/w Trudeau and Scheer for me right now....and I'm leaning blue.

English language debate, not their audience so they probably thought **** em. It came across that way too.

If Singh had more substance to his statements rather than "everyone will get a pony" then he'd be a much more serious contender.

Conservative leader Andrew Scheer was in Markham this morning to promise funding for two major Toronto transit lines this morning, totalling more than $15 billion.

In announcing the pledge to help build the Ontario Line and Yonge Subway Extension projects, Scheer said he will ask one key question when considering these kind of projects: Will this project reduce commute times?

The Ontario Line will cost about $10.9 billion and the Yonge Subway Extension will cost about $5.6 billion.

Scheer also promised to get rid of the government’s infrastructure bank, saying it is simply a waste of money.

“He’s giving you the worst of both worlds: massive deficits with virtually nothing to show for it,” said Scheer. “It’s about time you had a government that gets shovels in the ground.”

ah yes lets stretch the Yonge line, which is already way over capacity, all the way up to Markham so they can use it like the existing GO train service.

really need to separate politics from city planning.
 
I suspect if the Liberals get in there will be a lot more apologies. A lot of feel good statements. More government waste, more ethics violations, let’s move past this and look forward. Nothing to see here. Lol. And with enough digging for that NDA, find out Justin will need to apologize once again etc.

Scheer gets a shot? I think he will pull a Doug Ford. Talk tough on those sounds bites but, cave when pushed into a corner.

Where is gets interesting is a minority government and it make up.

Still no costed platform for Scheer, where did we see this before, ah yes straight out of the Dougie Ford playbook. Week and a half left so either....

-They have something to hide (like epic deficits).
-They are completely incompetent and unable to figure it out, just making up promises as they go.

While the other parties have posted platforms, and they may be total crap, at least they put forth some effort. Will they release it, will it be in time for anyone to make an somewhat informed decision? We will see.
 
Its a conspiracy to convert the Canadian voters into nihilists or what flavor of scat would you like for the next four years.
Far too many negative interactions to give a damn.

All the other parties put forward FULLY costed platforms? as of last night that was not the case.

Didn't the cons already talked about their deficit plan? I dunno, didn't review the platform yet, don't care.

Also, what's with the endless ties to Ford? Beginning to sound like Trudeau. Loved Scheer's quip about that last night btw. :geek:
