Can I get a show of hands please ?

I took the course at Humber College in the 70's with the intent of getting my license and a dual purpose Yamaha.I got sidetracked and rode competitive dirt for about 5 years and then bought a dually.Got stopped for 10 over on Hwy 6.Cop gave me a lecture and made me promise to get my license.Only ticket i have ever had on 2 wheels!

Bought my first bike before I had a License, rode it home from the dealership, rode around T.O. for a couple of weeks and then went for my M License at the Keel and 401 test center.
I was lucky never to have been pull over by the police. - that was a number of years ago. LOL

Nice bike.
I think you forgot the other important question........ How many people bought a bike before getting an insurance quote only to find out that its almost as much as the bike cost for the first year.

Or how many people sold their first bike before getting their license. Motorcycling isn't for everyone.

Lol , perhaps all the new riders that checked out that thread with the you tube vid of the guy cutting a dear in half then calling his mom crying while laying on the ground ! OUCH !

LMAO, Welcome...

I will admit to riding my first bike without license or insurance for a couple of days. Then, wrote the test at the ministry a couple of days later. (No M1 or M2 at the time - just full M).

Then I had to fork over the $180.00 to insure it for the six month term. (those were the days - $2.00/hour minimum wage – a six pack cost less than $3.00 and - $1.00 to fill the tank).

I got my M2....then 7 months later I got my first bike.

...and congratz to the OP on the VFR.

I bought my first bike in Dec. 2011. Wrote my M1 in February, 2012. The weather was so nice in March that I HAD to take it out a few times. Went for my MSF course/got my M2 in April. Now, I'm out on it every chance I can get. You're going to LOVE it.

my bike was delivered on last week of July last year, I stared at it for 1 agonizing month in my car port before i got my M1.

Well , another step complete ...
I wrote and passed my M1 written :) Having said that , boy I couldn't believe the broken English on the exam . I thought I was in need of a dam translator for heaven sake , and yes English is my first and only language

Anyway , one more step closer :D

Congrats! Don't worry about English. I have a friend who immigrated from England (born and raised there), and morons from Canada immigration made him write English proficiency test for his citizenship.

Same here, my girlfriend bought me a gsxr for my birthday but my M1x was scheduled for end of April! Sat on it and made lots of noises while I took out her sister's cbr cause I didn't want to drop my own bike XD

LOL! I had a bike before I was legal to have a license (10 yr old).
I was lucky enough to grow up in the country, I grew up driving bikes, boats, "field cars" and snowmobiles. B)

I drove and rode for over a year before I got my license. However, it was on another continent, a long time ago and I had my brother's license. Showed it to cops successfully 17 times. My brother and I don't look alike enough to determine we are even related :). Insurance? I didn't even pay the tax on the bike, let alone had it registered :)

Welcome!!
