Calling Anyone That Has GoPro Attached To Their Helmets

I use 3M double sided tape with a gopro session. It lasts 2 hours per charge. I charge it on the bike when I get home on a USB cable. Very practical.
much more practical the then standard go pro

Do you recommend this action camera?

There are three listed. And compared to GoPro they are cheap.

Which one do you have?

I guess I'll check them out on YouTube

What kind of helmet do you have, @Pegassus?

Its a run-of-the-mill helmet that has been in my closet for 7 years, to tell you the truth I don't even know where and when I bought it. I have 2 others that I use when the weather is cold, they are more protective.

Hold up... you drilled a hole through your helmet???

Yeah, but please don't come up with sermons, there's far worse dangers lurking on the road like tractor-trailers or deer crossing my path than a tiny hole in my helmet.

Your bike has a steering wheel?

I think he has one of these:

Don't forget, his bike is also equipped with axle sticks.

until you hit your head? no one has an accident until they do.

A six inch screw would hold it on really well.

You can custom mold a mount with some marine epoxy, then use 3M to hold your newly fabricated mount to the helmet. You want it mounted right in the center and with no arms so you have no vibrations. The Hero 7 can be had for $300 (Kijiji) and the quality/stabilization is great. Personally, I don't like riding with a cam on the helmet since it feels awkward. But, once in a while its cool to get some footage. I much prefer the 1 inch ball mount I have on the handle bars. Give you lots of flexibility with mounting options. If you want any pictures of it, let me know and I'll dig some up

The Hero 7 is $299.97 at Costco if you can find them. They are on "clearance".

I picked one up at the Markham/14th one about week and half ago. They had 10 left after I bought mine.

Now many Youtubers and some friends of mine are telling me to attach it with this 3M adhesive. No way in hell I'm going to attach a $400 action camera and depend on an adhesive to keep it from flying off in the QEW at 120 km/h. I want something more secure.

Trust me the last thing you need to worry about is the 3M adhesive on genuine GoPro mounts to fail. I even ground down the plastic on the arm of the part that clips into the mount with a Dremel so that it's easier to snap off if it catches on something in the event of a crash, a solid enough arm attached to one of those mounts could get snagged and provide enough torsion to break your neck.

Video Description said:
I put the flat mount on the truck approx. 30 minutes before the video was shot. The bucket of oil weighs 20 lbs. I couldn't really get the adhesive part of the mount off, I even hung on it (130lbs). I would recommend this to any high gravity or high wind activities. It's very secure!

Which is why it's illegal to modify your helmet. But go nuts Peggy. I'm sure the law is wrong.

They use them on airplanes! At hundreds of MILES per hour. Trust me, 120kph on a motorcycle isn't going to make it fall off.

Drilling a hole in your helmet has to be right up there with axel sticks. ?

The gopro on the warbirds vampire has never fallen off. It does tend to flop over at 300 to 400 mph and look at the sky for the rest of the flight. So, dont exceed 300 mph and you will be ok.
