Cager Appreciation Thread

there where a lot of good cagers on our sunday ride, sept the guy in the SUV that merged into the side of me through the yeald sign.
My horn was blowing but nothing. was way more then 1 bike there.

I think most bikers don't even realize that a car is making an accomodation for them..they're just blissfully ignorant.

the problem is on most rides there will be a couple of drivers who pull over or give us space but there will be this one damn guy who try cut into the center of the group or something stupid! so at the end of the day we all forget about the good ones and will be mad ******.

My theory is that most cagers that do anything for riders are riders themselves. I know when i'm doing 90 in the left lane of the 401 i will move over if a bike is behind me... but only a bike.

That's class..

I try to spread a happy happy joy joy vibe when I ride...

I give a nod to oncoming drivers at an intersection who are waiting to make a left turn, but wait till I pass by (even though they could have made the left before me getting there)
or to the drivers wanting to come out of a driveway, but again wait, instead of rushing and cutting in front of me.

hopefully a good impression will be left on those drivers, so that they are more respectful/aware of other riders.

even had small talk with a taxi driver downtown once at a red light, in the end I told him to be aware of other riders on the road....and he agreed (hope he does)
sure I'll shake my head and cuss like hip hop artist(not that they'll hear me), if I disapprove of something they did.

but if I was to pull up beside them and yell or kick their door, it would do nothing but reinforce their negative impression of riders.

instead, I think if traffic allowed, pulling up to them at the lights and explaining to them their error, would better serve other riders.
just ask them how would they like it if someone(did what they did to you) to one of their family members....that should make them think twice.

This happened on the Sunday drive also. On the way back, when most already split off, some ******** decided he wasn't going to have any of what we were giving so he moved into our lane almost taking me out in the process.

Ever tried to change lanes to make a turn when a bunch of d-bag bikers are jerking around?? Ugh...

On the highway? And then stay in the lane the bikers were in (aka not getting off at the next exit)?
We also weren't jerking around, we were riding normally.

Get a Stebel! I got one after being sideswiped a couple years ago. Makes a big difference! A short blast is very effective in waking up a merging cager who hasn't seen you. Longer blasts for those who keep merging anyway. Then everyone around is watching them try to cut you off. Also dramatically improves your odds with left hand turns & rolling stops.

Stebel should adopt the slogan "making cagers better drivers, whether they want to be or not" Lol

Yesterday, was waiting to make a left at a light into my neighbourhood. Older lady in oncoming right-turn lane with right-of-way stops to wave me through the intersection first. Probably because the idiot in front of me waited for her to get right up to the line before lurching through the intersection and cutting her off (he had plenty of time to go before that). I'll bet she was afraid I'd pull the same bonehead maneuver. Anyway, I waved.

Cager appreciation? **** 'em...

This old lady got a flat in the middle of Kingston Road, lucky for her it was right in front of my dealership and I changed the tire for her.
People were honking and swearing at her and not one person stopped to ask if she was OK!

No, I didn't bother reading the thread. :)

Question. The old lady was in a car or on a bike?
