got 3 tool boxes sitting in the garage, hate wheeling and dealing.
Good thing we pay so many of them >$100k a year. Highly trained professionals.
I like to respond back to lowballers with a higher than asking priceAdvertised on kijiji this week a fair price for some brand new gear priced at about 30% retail. Some guy offers me less than half my asking. I ask if he would sell for that low? He offers me 50% of my asking price. Replies from his work email. Some financial guy downtown. Guaranteed this clown earns big money. Chumps seem to come in all forms..

$50 retail
It happens...just saying. people do their research. I'm assuming the guy offered $25.ha.. I see they may have been on closeout, and dropped in price.. No longer in stock...
I had paid a much higher price plus sales taxes :-(
You guys must hate me. I always ask for a better price. Kijiji, stores, church bazaars. You never know what a seller's motives are. And they can always not negotiate. But I try not to insult. Not a good way to bargain if you piss off the seller.

At the grocery store? How about canadian tire? When you're getting gas?

Yes. I price match.
Yes. Look for discounted / damaged / end of line products.
Yes. Either go to Costco (cheaper) or bonus rewards.
Also negotiated and additional 20% off at Aeropostale for being a funny fat guy.
Weird.

Exactly, everything is negotiable. If I'm looking at a $4000 bike, I might offer $3500 and go from there. I'm not likely to offer $2000, that's insulting.

Not if the bike is worth $2000. Some bikes you show up and your realize it needs this, that is leaking, oh didn't see that in the photo, and they stated MINT.
Lots of ads for bikes asking what they paid for it a year ago at peak price, which is >$2000 more than what you can find new on dealer floors.
Bikes take a 20-30% haircut on value first year, and many buyers use the web to quickly determine high, low and average asking prices, and know selling prices are 10% off that.
