Buying Selling on Kijiji woes

Never had a problem buying or selling on Kijiji.

Me neither.

I think if people set a fair price, on a well-cared for bike, it's obvious, and you will get serious people.

Post ads with asking above MSRP (FIRM no lowballers) and hide damages, have an iffy UVIP, refuse to safety, you reap what you sow.

There a re some unfortunate people who think every interaction has to be a competitive scam and they think they are smarter than they are. F'em.

you wont get any more serious people than with any other ad. you'll get the bullcrap just the same

I guess that tragedy teaches us to never allow test drives if the buyer is going to be next to you. You're too vulnerable.

You could always hold a knife to their throat during the drive. Just to be safe.

I have a set of tires (car tires) on Kijiji listed for $280 and had a guy email me "interested $160 pickup today !" ... my reply back "motivated seller $279 pickup today!" LOL

On rims or just tires?

I posted and ad for my BMW X3 tires and rims, when I got rid of. the car I asked for a lousy 500.00, for virtually new BMW rims with Blizzaks (2,500.00+). I just wanted to get rid of them. A typical response- "will you take 300.00 and meet me somewhere along the QEW?".

Just tires ...
$280 is a touch high then. Generally if new, discount brand, tires will cost almost as much as your used, good brand, tires people will just go discount.

Everyone is dif. I'd rather get used good name tires then no name brand tires. Won't touch the stuff.

I haven't had a problem selling stuff on Kijiji, sometimes it just takes longer and I can wait it out. I am in no hurry to empty my garage.

Amazed you sold them at all, this is Ontario, where people lease $60K cars and can't afford winter tires.

fuggin hate kijshit for selling, great bottom feeder for buying. Once had tried to sell wheels tires for 2 years before I had to practically give them away. I had so many Im coming over with cash now promises that after the 5th time I knew it was all BS.

China effect has killed most used goods.

He opened up on two cops and got killed.
It's good to be cautious, but incidents through kijiji are pretty rare.

A lawyer has been hired by someone involved in this mess and has been conducting an investigation(Mississauga news article a couple of days ago). He's been interviewing witnesses etc..Apparently the guy who was shot to death was armed with a knife. The only person shooting was 1 of the peel officers, whom accidently shot the other cop and the lady who was was in her kitchen and had nothing to do with the incident....

Anyways, kijiji is what it is ive sold a lot of stuff ,other times I just don't have any patience for wankers and pull my ads down and toss the ***** in the basement

Good thing we pay so many of them >$100k a year. Highly trained professionals.

I just posted a couple of ads for some car parts. Next week I will be posting one of my bikes. Now you guys have me worried lol.

Meh.. take it all with a grain of salt. I've sold everything I wanted to on kijiji. Some for less than I hoped, some for more.

Bottom line - if you are a realistic buyer/seller, you will have no issues. If you're one of those "My item is worth $$$$ because I won't take a penny lower" people:
