So this guy is willing to trade me his '04ZZR250 for my '01TTR225 my bike is absolutely fine minus a few cosmetic things, but his was dropped last year the rear break foot-peg broke off so that needs to be replaced one of the faring is really scratched, apparently the carb was cleaned, one of the forks may be bent so i have to look at that, but he said the bike was uninsured and got it off of a friend. What should I be asking for to determine if the bike is stolen or not, I just don't want to spend time tuning, Fixing, and repainting a bike to find out that its stolen lol.
I wanna fix up the bike and possibly resell it.

i'd walk. if not that, then the frame may be damaged.

The seller is required by law to provide a UVIP with the bike. The UVIP will show possible liens, crashes and past owners. If he does not or cannot provide it you should walk away. Of course part of the UVIP is ownership documents from the MOT. Without a UVIP you will not be able to license it or legally ride it on the road. If you buy the bike without seeing the UVIP you are taking a huge risk.

If the shocks are bent the frame may also be bent. Be careful.

guy has all of that thankfully but Parental units nay say'd
ohwell i'll be 18 in a few months XD
thanks for all of the help next time it'll be a mad-dash with cash in hand and knowing what im looking at and for :)

I bought my first bike on student loan money :D

Only the reported ones. It won't show drops and slides, which surprisingly can cause a lot of damage even if you're not moving.
My bike was layed down by the previous owner (my friend). UVIP says nothing about it.
