Another heads up is that Guelph is doing noise testing also at the urging of their council. Just a matter of time when the noise machines will be mandated out of existence. Loud pipes save lives my assi
Having rode many Harley's stock and not stock they never idle smooth. This is coming from a likely future Harley owner.
Newsflash: that's already illegal.
Well, it shook more than I'm used to, but the idle rpm wasn't jumping around.
This is coming from a current Harley owner, my Sportster idles smoothly. The bike vibrates like a paint mixer, but the idle is even. My setup is completely stock.
Some motorcycles are more difficult to ticket if they come stock from the dealership like that but then they'll make more noise than the car with the 3" exhaust line...
I guess theyre targeting motorcycles as its easier for them to get away with it in court with the "comes like this stock"
Sorry let me make the wording perfectly clear then.
When looking at the revolutions per minute gauge that sits forward of the rider while the bike is idling the dial indicator remains constant at a numerical number and does not move around unless changed via a rotation of the wrist or a twist of the fingers at the idle adjustment. However the manufactured pieces of metal that you hold onto and the padded plastic seat send small to medium movement rippling through ones body indicating what some people would refer to as "not idling smoothly"
Better?...lol

Newsflash: It might be a law but they still do it and it is a more of a concern than some loud bike driving past and annoying you...boo hoo lol.
The rider(s) blasting along at warp speed on the highway doesn't bother me in the least. Doesn't affect my ride/drive. And, as pointed out, is already illegal and the police are expending considerable (vast majority?) of their resources trying to enforce it.
The bugger that stops at the end of my driveway though, waiting for his parade to catch up, and revving the crap out of his straight pipes, then being joined by his pals (because lord knows riding alone is just no good at all) then they all slowly blast off, knocking the leaves off the trees and making the poor coyotes miscarry due to the sonic booms, is annoying as hell. Anyone taking steps to stop that has my full support.
Anyone that can't recognize the increasing reactions against annoyingly loud motorcycles and chooses to try to obfuscate the issue by raising misleading and irrelevent comparisons (such as speeding) is missing the point, and, I think wilfully or foolishly oblivious. To their peril.

Lets get this straight....people riding at warp speed on the hwys risking their lives and more importantly OTHERS is no consequence to you.....OK
BUT buggers stopping at the bottom of YOUR driveway revving their bike is causing sonic booms and annoys you.....do ya THINK they are doing it on purpose? Maybe you are a target? Can't think of why?...lmao
Yep, you have it correctly. Someone else speeding doesn't bother me. Bothers you though, huh? Odd. Maybe you should seek a career change and join the OPP.
Nah, they aren't targeting me. I'm quite certain they didn't spend hundreds of dollars modifying their rides so that they could irritate me. I have a large ego but I do realize the whole world doesn't revolve around me. How's that working for you?
I'm sure the reason they do it is the same reason all the other moron's do it. They want everyone to pay attention to them and be amazed at how manly they are that they can, barely, ride a motorcycle. All should bow to their awsomeness as they duck waddle their bike around the corner neither their bike nor they is able to manage without their feet being down.![]()
Wow a lot of hate on this forum. A lot of hate. And towards other riders.
Sad.

but running on hwy6, don't really think they would be at an idle.
I heard that bodies and motorcycle wrecks are all over the place in Caledon now. Its like a warzone apparently!
