Bubbles forming under the paint of fuel tank

I've got a 2008 Hyosung GT250R and a few days ago I took it out and noticed there was a small bubble, about 1 cm in diameter that formed on the right side of the tank. It concerned me at first, but I haven't had any free time to look into it.

I went out for a ride today and noticed the bubble has gotten much larger; probably about 2-3 cm in diameter.

I was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on what may have caused this issue and how I might go about correcting it.

Thanks,

Brandon

Are you sure its metal? (not calling you dumb, but people make mistakes)

If you're right, then the bubble can only be paint. Not sure what would cause that... I guess fuel could've gotten on it and it was already damaged or something. I doubt a metal tank would have a perforation in it under the paint.

If the tank is plastic on the other hand, lots of bikes have this issue. The plastic reacts to ethanol in pump gas and deforms. Ducati uses Acerbis gas tanks, like many other manufacturers, so they have that issue.
