"Northumberland OPP is investigating a collision on Highway 401 westbound in the Municipality of Brighton.
On June 16, 2024, shortly after 3:30 p.m., members of the OPP, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a serious single-vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck the central barrier and ejected the rider.
A 35-year-old male from St. Catherines, was transported by ORNGE Air to a trauma centre in Toronto for treatment and injuries are described as serious.
Highway 401 was closed westbound from County Road 30 as Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members conducted their investigation. The highway re-opened at approximately 11:00 p.m."
