Breaking a riding rule

I do the same thing. People say you shouldn't ride angry or upset because it will make you ride aggressively or make you not concentrate but for me if I'm ****** I get on the bike and forget about everything else. But I'm not a very aggressive rider to begin with (driving can be a different story sometimes).

Also, I hate riding tired but if I didn't do it in the morning (I get up at 5:30am and am always tired in the morning) I'd probably never get to ride.

I lost my job yesterday. I was and still am pretty ****** about it. I decided to go for a ride. It helped it got my mind off it for a while. My general rule of thumb is i will give it a few minutes. If after 10 or 15 minutes im still preoccupied or cant get into the riding then i turn it around and go home. Today no work = riding

Nothing wrong with throttle therapy to tune the world out. Just know your limits and call a stop when it warrants it. Like most mentioned above, I ride to clear my head.
