Brampton to blame

My renewal came in for my Vstrom (DL1000).

After three consecutive years of declining, it increased 14%. Called to ask why.....was told my record is good but my postal cose was close to Brampton (I live in Streetsville).

Seems my insurance company has some issues with the claims originating from Brampton.

Well...I guess now that they have raised everyone's rates in Brampton it's time to spread out and raise everyone's rates NEAR Brampton...Really??? Sounds like your broker doesn't really have a legitimate answer for you.
 
Get ready for raises in rates cause the city you live in is near the border of brampton.
 
I live in Brampton and pay less then 90% of people in here I'd say. $72/month for full coverage on a 600 ss.
 
And they wonder why insurance fraud is always on the rise. What a industry, the only "legal" criminal organisation... I live close to Brampton as well, I guess I'll find out in June....

Yeah, that's a little ridiculous. I mean, Mississauga is also close to other cities, which aren't Brampton. How have those neighbouring cities had on affect your rate? I'd call back and ask for a less half-baked answer, and then shop around.
 
I feel your pain... I live in BTOWN and my car is registured under moms postal code L6S I live not even 10 mins from her in L6R and they want tp raise my ins up 2000/yr which would be another 200 a month.. I said hell no and left car under moms address. It really does suck living here for ins reasons Bike is registered at friends address so its not to bad lol any thing to get lower rates starting to think to leave my address at brothers in belleville lol good luck

you mean you store your bike at your friend's address and are looking to move it to your brother's address right? *nudge*

Yes, you can get a ticket (I believe they have to be the same within a certain period of time of moving) and you can also be denied coverage from your insurance company if anything happens.
 
My bike is registered in friends name and his address but I store bike at my house and i am the main rider for the bike. Thinking about using bro's address for ins to be cheaper lol

Rates are high based on accident frequency and misrepresentation of claims including address :rolleyes:

Some may disagree......that just means they haven't read the whole thread for the examples given.:confused4:
 
I can see going after bad drivers and fraudsters but using the first 3 digits of a postal code penalizes a huge swath of residents. It shouldn't be allowed at that macro level
