brake check on the 401

Hey as an aside, is there a number to report cars that have really bad upkeep? Like smelly white smoke farting out of their exhaust? Or crazy inventions bolted to their car/truck? I saw a car that bolted a bunch of 2x4s ont he hood and the trunk so he could transport stuff. not sure how safe that is, but my main concern is cars with REALLY bad exhausts.

What about super lifted jeeps? Isn't that illegal? If that rear-ended me when I was on a bike I'd be dead instantly...

Wasn't me this time, not that I haven't done that before. Only when someone has really cut me off badly, then subtlely of course, don't want to cause an accident. They tend to keep they're distance if they think you're crazy, Lol.

:happy1:

You can try the MTO enforcement line. I doubt the offroader jeeps are illegal
But the 2/4 that's a different story.. Would need a pic to best say

The jeeps could well be illegal, just never enforced. Like the Blue Running Lights people were installing a few years ago on their cars...

It's never a good idea, especially in front of "unsympathetic" drivers like this Russian bus driver

OK. Don't know much about the jeeps. The wood could be illegal as in he would need a special permits/caution flags and a spotter car to be able to drive on the road with item attachments affixed but not approved yet extending considerably beyond the standard parameters of the vehicle. Have to deal with a lot of truckers at work

If you could find out who they are and who insures them you could give them a bad time with their insurance company. Almost no companies will cover lifted vehicles these days. My cousin had to sell a truck he had lifted for just the cost of the lift kit because he couldn't get affordable insurance after he lifted it, had no money left to pay someone to remove the kit, and no one wanted to pay much for it because they knew they couldn't insure it.

I've even squealed on riders doing over 200 on city roads riding the lane marker.. I have no problem with reporting idiotic driving ironically some time respond in kind

I knew a couple guys that rode like absolute ***** but when they retold the stories to ppl they forgot to mention they were riding like absolute ***** when they say they were almost killed by other drivers (exaggerations), or harrassed by cops.

internet + embellishment makes you popular for a brief moment.

That's awesome, I had never heard of that guy before... he has "folk hero" status apparently!

Russia's Newest Folk Hero Is A Car-Crushing Bus Driver Called 'The Punisher'

This is Alexei Volkov, known in Zelenograd as "The Punisher." When he gets cut off in traffic, he punishes the offending driver. With over 100 crashes, he is fast becoming the city's newest folk hero.

The Craziest Russian Dash Cam Videos Of 2012

With the massive proliferation of cheap GoPros and other cameras, it seems like every second of… Read…
As we know from numerous dash cam videos, Russia is filled with insane drivers and truly bizarre road incidents. Alexei Volkov wanted to fix bad driving habits, so he set up a dash cam and started filming every time he got cut off, and how he doled out bumper-to-bumper justice.
He uploads these videos to YouTube and you can see his whole channel here.
The bus rarely gets hurt in any of these impacts, and Volkov told a local news station that his employer has nothing against his vigilante crashes. He has never been found guilty in court, he stated. You can read the full, amazing interview here, but here's our favorite part:
- How do the scammers behave after the accidents, when they realize that they will obviously be found guilty of the accident?
- After the accident, nobody realizes that they will “obviously be found guilty”. It’s still a common misconception that those who hit from behind are always at fault. So, they behave arrogantly. Though later it’s funny to watch their painfully pathetic explanations in the office of the analysis group which investigates the accident. By the way, the freak from the last video considered himself right even after cops explained him the situation and he hired a lawyer.
All we know is, never cut off a Russian bus.

Next stop...your ***.

Pure awesomeness right there.

Love the Russian bus driver video clips, but there's a big difference between cutting someone off, and doing a brake check when you are already in front of them. One is making an unsafe lane change (the lane changer is at fault), the other is following to close if the guy at the back actually hits the guy in front who is braking.

If you're going to do it, don't be stupid enough to actually get hit. Don’t make unsafe maneuvers to get in front of him. Wait for the right opportunity. Use a light tap on the rear brake, enough to slow you a little and get their attention. Don't grab a handful of front and make yourself a hood ornament. Keep a close eye on your mirrors. If they're not reacting, roll on and get yourself out of there. Only do it to someone who really deservers it. A glare is good enough for someone who cuts you off accidentally. They usually give you that "I'm sorry" gesture. Save it for the guy who pushes his way into you even as you're leaning on your Stebel. And don't over do it and escalate the situation. Just a short tap to let him know that he can't bully his way down the highway unnoticed, then be on your way.

Why the eff would anyone ever think it's even a remotely good idea to get in front of a vehicle, while straddling a small explosive at 100+ kmp/h and intentionally slow down to attract attention from the vehicle behind them.

I mean, what on earth is spinning in your tiny mind to think "Look at this clown, driving like that. Oh, I know how to get him straight! I'll get RIGHT in front of this guy, THEN hit the brakes to see if he is paying attention! That'll show him, I bet he won't see it coming!"

How this is even a subject of debate is beyond me. Don't do it. Even a little. If the driver is being erratic, slow, or even just a plain dick, GTFO of the way. Move - don't do the opposite.

Face, your sig says it all.

What on earth are people doing that causes drivers to do crap to them???

I once had a lady try to swerve into me because I guess my exhaust scared her when I passed. Tried twice in front of an unmarked YRP car. Funny part was when the cop got out of the car he ran straight at me (cursing and trying to get my kickstand down) and said to get back on the bike and go home lol.

I brake checked today.

I also signal checked, then pulled out of my driveway.

everything good to go!

You're proud of being a whistleblower, snitch, squealer, etc. etc.?

God damn lol What ethnicity are you? I'm going to assume cultural backgrounds influence one's morals, ethics and values greatly.
