Boogie or Shanonville?

Great session! Where did you get that slick HUD software for the video and lap timer track map?
The track timer app is called Harry's Lap Timer (it was originally for iOS, but they just came out with an Android version too!). It has tons of maps built in already (including Calabogie, Shannonville, TMP, etc.), that's where it gets the track map, corner names, sector markers, etc. It runs on anything from iPod 4th gen and up, iPhone whatever, etc. That iPod 4th gen in the video doesn't have internal GPS (and using the built in iPod or iPhones GPS sucks donkey balls anyway) so has a UltiMate 5hz ultra high accuracy GPS sensor plugged into it.

It can do the sweet video overlay automatically if you're using the camera in the iPod/iPhone to record your session, or if you have an external camera (like the gopro in the video) then you just copy the video from your GoPro to the iPod and Harry's Lap Timer will put the overlay on your video. Keep in mind, iPod 4th gen can only handle 720p, so if your GoPro is in 1080p then you won't be able to do the overlay. You can get around this by making a 720p "blue screen" video, applying the overlay to that, then using Adobe Primere sync the blue screen (Ultrakey) on top of your GoPro video and voila, you have output like that video :)

The app usually shows braking and acceleration force on the overlay, but due to the last lap of that session, the data was damaged and could only be partially recovered. If in a car it shows handling g forces as well (doesn't work on motorcycle because we lean).

Thanks for the play by play....really slick production you put together!

^This!

Shannoville (long) has a good layout, better than TMP in my opinion, but a short straight and awful bumpy rattling asphalt. I wouldn't bother with the 2+ hours it takes me to get there. I would rather put in 2 more hours and experience what many call the best track in Canada!

The grip levels at Bogie are like that of European professional tracks. Though there is no 300kph straight, you can push 270 on one of the straights. Take turn 4 at roughly 180kph and learn how to take turn 5 just right and you could be up to 270kph on a "straight" that is roughly as long as TMP's

The track is very very fast and flowing with at least 3 corners at 165kph to 180kph with knees down.

TMP has my TC light lit up out of almost every turn, where as my TC light never blipped once at Bogie....which means I had quite a lot of room to improve despite setting red group times on my first day there.

A few riders have told me that a 1:20 at TMP is equivalent to 2:20 at Bogie. I recall you saying you run a 1:17 at TMP and from having seen how fast you learn a track I can see you hitting 2:20 to 2:25 in your first outing. With those times, Bogie's surface is like rails!

I know you like to slide...but just imagine the drive you're gonna get at Bogie!!!!

Shannonville is also flat and boring. Bogie is undulating with blind crests and decreasing radius turns. It truly is a mix of all the best elements of every other track. All it is missing is an 800m (proper) straight.

The facilities are top notch, clean, new, superb.

Down side: You will likely need to camp. Price. New riders forced to pay $30 extra and parade behind a guide for 2 sessions. poor run off. No food...BRING YOUR OWN FOOD!!!!

I have videos of my sessions at both. Take a peak:

PS I met you once a couple years back at both our first times at TMP. I was running my then black 2009 ZX10R. I showed up riding in with a back pack and you let me use your cooler and tire gauges. Glad to see you recovered from the Jamaica accident and back on the track. You have a natural talent!
You do know that you are not supposed to pass after turn in. Even in red group. And you are in green. Lucky you crashed or you may have got punched after that session. From now on can you post your bogie dates so I know to stay home. STUFFER!

1) Calabogie
2) Mosport
3) Shanny

Shanny is a joke compared to the other places. Calabogie takes it up a notch from Mosport simply due to the technicality of the track, there is about twice as many corners and it gets tiring. The facilities are amazing compared to what I've seen before. They have a proper shop and very well maintained showers and washrooms. The mosquitoes there are ****ing killler though, you need a lot of bug spray, the mother****ers were out all day...

If you want to spectate there are not as many lookout points as Mosport. Also its all paved in the lot so MAKE SURE you take a cot or air mattress.
