boo on the manager Scott at Whitby Royal Distributing

Why on earth should Scott return this jacket to the Whitby store, when it was quite clearly WORN? I don't think his not returning it had anything to do with the fact of where it was bought and way more to do with being splattered with bugs and not being able to re-sell it that way! Like it was his fault that YOU bought the wrong size, gimme a break!

actually wearing it for an hour doesn't look "clearly quite worn", no bugs on it, looked just like the other ones on the rack... does that mean the ones on the rack that have been tried on are "clearly quite worn"? Wore it from innisfil to my folks in etobicoke, decided it was too big. because of the location and my location, returning it to the same store is difficult.

And like stated my complaint is with Scott's attitude, not their return policy.

"Quite clearly WORN" and "clearly quite worn" do not mean the same thing.

I have heard nothing but good things about Royal from friends and family. This Scott guy might have been having a ****** day, or the OP tried to bring back a dirty jacket.

To Scott cheer up mate, long weekend coming!

To OP, wipe the coat off next time.

...beer time.

to be fair, you're complaining about Scott's attitude, but scott isn't here to defend what was 'alledgely' said.

We weren't there and you didn't really state any facts, so there isn't much to go on in believing your side of the story. For all we know you wanted the return, he said he couldn't be could of 'head office' and you got mad and wrote this, thats the way i see it.

Unless you remember actual quotes or state what he actually did, I'm leaving judgement on the fence.

Products are tried on in the store for what could be considered excessive amounts of time, especially with the indecisive types. These products could be considered as used as well. I worked retail for far too long in my youth and can't tell you how many times a product was being 'tried on' for size while the customer shopped around for an hour.

Royal has been pretty decent to me. The actions of the manager is what is being called into question. CruisinGrrl, I appreciate your frustration because I have had similar experiences. I usually keep my cool and tell the manager right to his/her face that their attitude is unwarranted and to pizz off.

I just leave my tags on everything until I'm sure I'm gonna keep it. Heh

This thread still alive? Heheh...
I'll never forget working at the old Cycle World West store for many years.
One evening a woman bought all kinds of stuff (helmet, jacket, gloves etc.)
Then first thing Monday morning, she's back to return everything!
Turns out she wanted to ride somewhere on the weekend with a new Motorcycle Man she had met, but I guess things didn't go so well...
Anyway: we of course wouldn't take the helmet back, and charged 25% re-stocking for everything else.
I remember she wasn't very happy (understatement).
But really, what do people think this is - Eatons?
Heck even Eatons closed down, LoL. Hard to make that work...
A good accessories salesperson would have recommended a properly snug jacket in the first place.
Yes, they will balloon-up at speed if too big.
Just get the correct fit to begin with - otherwise, you own it.
It's yours; you've bought it!
If it doesn't fit right, then you're looking dumb...
And you can't expect Scott to be happy to see you,
Regards

wtf? you got no receipt,no tags and a worn jacket....try this at bay with a $10 jacket and they will say the same thing....this is motorcycle wear....expensive as heck and yes ,If I get the hint that some one's worn it then for sure I will not touch it....

A smile can only get you so far....:D
