Truck captured boar into any abattoir, dispatched very quickly . The Mary miles pork plant in Burlington tidies up 3 -5 tractor trailers a day ( they gas them)
Not that it matters but high end air rifles are still shooting a bullet , just air powered , and an arrow is a bullet on a stick . For what it’s worth I would MUCH rather be shot with gun than an arrow .
could be a variety of reasons. more challenging, less noisy, easier to practice, cost (no bullets), noise, by-laws in certain areas restrict firearms but say nothing about bows.
also, bow hunting season starts earlier so you get less competition.

My brother won't hunt with people using mechanical broadheads anymore. Way too many fail to open and just punch a tiny hole and leave a wounded animal.
Cute pig. Lots left out of that story. To start with they blamed the injury on a human arrow or bullet with no apparent wound. Maybe it just slipped on a rock. It's tusks disappeared at the animal sanctuary with no mention. It's hard to save every animal, especially those that are invasive and can have dire consequences if they escape.
It kinda freaks me out -- he hunts alone, from the ground, and sometimes for big stuff. I think meeting a 1300lb bull moose or 500lb bear at 10 yards would make me **** myself. He 2 weeks ago he was on a solo hunt, he bagged a 500lb black bear on a thru and thru shot with a crossbow at 10 yards from the ground.
His view is the hunt is fairer, but mostly the adrenaline rush is unbelievable.

I don't worry much about the projectile, it more about what happens in the event of a missfire. A moose or bear could run or charge -- you never know. Miss with a 308 at 10 yards solo and you get another couple of chances about 1 second apart. Miss with an arrow... could be Indiana Jones time.

Good argument for carrying a sidearm but JT is more worried about optics than safety. One of my brothers friends was trapped in a tree while bowhunting with a pack of coyotes below that wouldn't leave. He was up there for hours and they were just waiting for him to come down. Phonecalls brought a shotgun into the mix and they left quickly.

He has a carry permit, but it's a bit tenuous when hunting as the rules say long gun only. He does pack when solo, I think where he lives there is a big of give as long as he's not hunting with a 45.
Yeah, if Subway comes out with a 4 dollar pulled pork sandwich, I'd steer clear. They got caught by some group who had their chicken meat tested . Apparently no chicken DNA was detected...as I recall.............this happened in the States.
Just from personal experience when I was a travelling salesman through southwest Ontario….there were more subway restaurants than Tim Hortons…every small town had a subway. And I always had a sub there as a lunch time snack.
