nope the new bike = poo

I could more then happily get by on the 110 hp and 60 lb ft of the old bike.

I had a 2009 R1200R before upgrading this past August to a 2011 K1300S. I put on about 6K in just over a month and have to say that for me there is no comparison. The naked R1200R is a great bike for sure. I had a lot of fun on it, it is extremely reliable, very light and maneuverable in the city and a solid perfomer during long distance touring. However one month on the K1300S was a totally different experience.

The ergonomics for me (5'9'') are outstanding. I have ridden for up to 6 hours straight with only fuel and restroom breaks through all sorts of weather. Despite my age (> 50) and previous back problems never had any issues with comfort in terms of seating position and wind protection (I did swap out the stock shield for a small touring windshield - the looks of the bike are not really affected).

The available power between the two bikes is not comparable. The K1300S is simply effortless in virtually all situations. I am sure its not quite as nimble as a 600SS but it is plenty maneuverable and the increased power allowed me to keep up with most people I rode with - I would consider myself a decent rider but certainly not a track expert. What I like most is the outstanding stability and feel during long sweepers.

Basically, I am hooked. I don't think I will switch for a long time to come.

Ridden one at a demo. Great bike. Awesome on sweepers. Surprising comfy. Std windshield does a good job. Great brakes. If I was getting a Hyabusa - I would spend the extra and go for this.

I dont think the k13 can compete with Busa and zx14 when it comes to power. I believe it falls quite a bit short actually, in HP and TQ.

Kiwi, missed you at the K-bike seminar at Budd's last night. As usual, lot of good maintenance tips from John and the boys.
