Thanks all for the support. Nice to see others have walked away from this as well. I'm surprised having a front blow didnt result in a crash, some skill and/or luck there for sure.
Regarding the tire it was a Pirelli MT-66. I dont remember the age stamp, but it was a new tire when it was installed ( I checked) It was put on fall 2009.
