Bikes with character...

BAT makes a show of proving providence, but really does nothing. It's 100% on the seller.
That more or less makes sense to me - I have always viewed it as a curated Kijiji, and I feel there is SOME value in that. Caveat emptor still applies!
OH... and in BAT's seller's contract, it say IF it is a reserve sale, and doesn't meet reserve (BAT's reserve prices are ALWAYS ridiculously low) BAT gets first refusal at reserve price. BAT owns a warehouse full of cars that didn't make low reserve.
Now that is interesting, I've never heard that before. The seller doesn't have any influence over the reserve price? Or is it a matter of BAT simply rejecting listings with higher reserves?

Attention GTAM Ballers.......
Only a couple hrs left.

Interesting but I don't love it.

3.75 gallon tank and 132ci motor probably puts you in bar-hopping range. Window on the side of the gas tank is cool.

The wording around the lien is probably standard but mildly concerning (especially when size of loan is not mentioned and it sounds like BAT cuts the seller a cheque and you hope the seller pays off the lender). "There is currently a lien out on the bike, and the seller’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner."

It looks like Combat Motors genuinely wants it. Strong bids.

I would be lying if I haven’t kept a side eye on some bikes. Unfortunately I have money tied up in the Ducati so can’t buy another one until that’s sold…

This bike is proof that being able to machine aluminum does make you a good bike designer. What a horrid abortion.

Ah yes... the ol' Nicholson manual mill
I can understand your aversion to "billet"
I, personally, never saw the attraction of "billet". To ME billet means a chunk or bar and a HUGE, EXPENSIVE pile of swarf
Billet is nice for low-volume production, it's cheaper and faster than tooling and casting.

Our biz does a lot of casting, it costs us $15K to do a sand cast mold, and then we still have to machine the castings. We use billets for small-volume items, I figure he break even to tool up for castings to be around 1800 pieces.

As an example, a 6x3 iron casting costs about $25, then 12 minutes of CNC machining at $1/min =$37. A billet costs $22, and 25 minutes of machining, or $47 I have to make a lot of parts to justify $20K in molds.
