yes it does. Helmet on the ground behind a stopped bike means they want/need help.

I like to wave half way thru a left turn, at speed, leaned over.
If I come up behind a group of cruisers and notice they don't wave, I give them all a bye-bye wave as I'm passing them. Usually gets at least 1 salute.I pretty much always wave. It's not always reciprocated in TO, but pretty much always reciprocated when I'm out of town.
Cruisers are usually the more elitist lol. One time I rode past a convoy of them in Erin, going in the opposite direction. There were probably 30 riders and not one of them waved back. Cried a lot that day

I'm skipping the wave entirely and just doing the nod that we use in Australia....you sort of tip your helmet down with a twist.
Covers a crowd.....no need to take the hands off .....and in that wind....great idea.
Aussie version of this thread....opposite side of the road may mess with you.

I'd like to see the nod adopted in Canada/North America.
Ok turn this around, how about some really good waves? I have had a few from other riders which really impressed me.
One person practically stood up and waved, arm way up high. Another almost reached over the yellow line, arm fully stretched out like I should have 5'd him. Those 2 were the most memorable.
This is sad. Bike shouldn't matter, it's the riding spirit that should. Explains why many cruiser riders didn't return my wave yesterday.I had a Harley rider approach ,, seem to put arm in waving position , but hold it back till I was nearly on top of him , then this HUGE wave and he did a u turn ! Caught up to me at a light and explained ,, he thought my BSA low rider chopper might be a Suzuki savage! No way he was waving to jap,,

Wonder what brand of car he owns?
Guess I should have explained better ... when I'm following a group and I see how they treat oncoming riders. You expect others in front of you to wave?
