Bike wont start after rainstorm

Hold on, let me understand this...

IF you use your electric starter - does the motor turn over strong ?
When you push / bump start it - it starts right up?

In my buddies case, yep it turns strong, and yep starts right up after a push. Sometimes on 1-2 cyl then the others spring to life shortly after. He put on a pair of dyna coils and it seems that it might have fixed the problem, will update.

I had the same probelm, exactly as you described and it was electrical. I changed plugs, empied my gas tank and dried it, celared the lines and nothing would work. Message Freakyguy here and see if he can help you. hes the guy who ended up fixing my bike and he did a n amazing job.

Indicators full of water shorting it out? I remember that being a problem for a EX250J(?) owner on here.
Does it turn over right away if you hook it up to a battery charger? If not, grab a digital potentiometer and go through the wiring starting with ignition switch wire. It will be a pain in the *** to go through the whole wiring loom.

What is that and how do you use it to check the wiring ?

Thank you. Appreciate the kind words.

Problem resolved, I ended up taking the bike to shop to get the valve clearances checked and the carbs tuned, since then it has run like a dream. I'm putting the issue down to a weak battery or bad ground, which when combined with a poorly tuned motor resulted in no start. However I now have another set of problems but will start a new technical thread for them
