Bike movies!

if you like HK / asian stuff and don't mind oldschool cheesiness, there are several classic:

All About Ah Long (1990)

A Monent of Romance (1990)

A Monent of Romance II (1993)

Full throttle is the best non-documentary sportbike movie. I wish they adapt the plot and make it to Hollywood like the way they do Infernal Affairs. Even it fall into B movies it would be better than Biker Boyz or Torque.

Lots of cheesy 1960's stuff about bike gangs.

It's really something to watch guys on old raked out hogs pulling big air wheelies. I was amazed they didn't snap the front end off landing. That takes more talent than lofting a new SS.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys. I now have a list of bike movies to watch:D. I'll post more when I run across some.
:happy1:

I cannot believe no-one recommended 'The Motorcycle Diaries'. Based on a the defining road trip of Che Guevarra.

A motorcyclist has to be a capitalist in order to afford this expensive hobby, not too many socialist in our community! :D

Seriously I agree with you. "The Motorcycle Diaries" and "The World Fastest Indian" are probably the best motorcycle movie in last decade.

'Road to Dakar' w/ Charlie Boorman was an interesting watch too. Great gift for anyone that rides. It focuses on what's involved in preparing and competing in the Dakar Rally in Africa. For those who don't know, Charlie Boorman is 'the other guy' with Ewan McGregor in the 'Long Way...' series. For me it was as good as Faster 1&2 but showing a different style of riding and intensity.

I have 'One Week' and watching tomorrow - stoked for some bike stuff and Canadiana.

Also really enjoyed Motorcycle Diaries - saw it in the theaters when it came out and was surprised at the content of the movie - but it was a great flick and introduced me to Che....

How about "Fled" with Stephen Baldwin and Lawrence Fishburne, nice bike chase near the end with a couple of Ducatis.

Is that the movie where two guys in a Lincoln Town Car stay right on their tail? Not sure if it's the same one but it was funny. Dude is just burning it up on a Duc and next shot the town car is right on his tail. Too funny.

R u talking about Legend of Speed `http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=8463&display_set=eng`

I don't think that's the one. The one that I recall, I think has dirtbikes in the city...I think the main characters' bike is red & that's the one where he learns to race without the speed tachometer.

Hopefully someone can link/find it, I really wanna see it again :(

i was watching a good one the other day it was in black and white i dont member the name of it but it was pretty good... the story line was that these rebels came into this town n they where causing a bunch of trouble and the locals wanted them to leave. All i member was the leaders name was johnny lol

Yeah, but in the opening of Black Rain, doesn't Micheal Douglas shift gears about 17 times in his run down the pier?

Torque, btw, was an awesome movie. I always get a kick out of the preposterous story line and action scenes. And it gets more and more ridiculous as the movie goes on. But at least it doesn't take its self so seriously like Biker Boyz.

I can't tell you how many times I have had conversations with other riders while on the 401. I didn't know it was possible until I watched that movie.;)

Trying again: I really want to see this movie again! Anyone?

Btw, I remember seeing this crazy japanese/chinese/taiwanese biker movie when I was on an airplane like 7 years ago. I remember he was afraid of going fast or something so his mentor made him take off the speedometer hand. What movie is that?!

Ugh, no way Shiz lol. I watched it with my dad years ago but he ended up just going to bed when the idiot was going off-road with the Hayabusa. Not to mention the SUPER FAST chopper at the end, out running every SS, and somehow dodging cars in downtown busy traffic. I know it was a half joke movie, but I just couldn't stand it lol.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991)
Mickey Rourke, Don Johnson

IMDB Summary:
The tuff biker Harley and his no less tuff Cowboy friend Marlboro learn that an old friend of them will lose his bar, because a bank wants to build a new complex there and demands 2.5 million dollars for a new contract in advance. Harley and Marlboro decide to help him by robbing the corrupt bank. Unfortunately they target the wrong safety transport and get hold of an amount of a new synthetic drug. Now they are targeted both by criminal bankers

BAHAHAH!!! I love the ending of this clip. I cracked up. Looks like an interesting movie though!

Hey OP, Thanks for posting this! I've been wanting to post up a thread like this for awhile now. I'm in the exact same boat! Saw Torque, Biker Boyz, and caught Long Way Down on Youtube. Amazing series!
I'm really excited to see all these great movies!
