Bike Mechanics 101 With Pegassus (For Noobs)

Even though this is at the expense of another and I have been taught doing so is wrong, that the humour I have enjoyed reading this thread this afternoon has totally made my week!

Through out the decades it has been said that men have become much more sensitive. I am glad the 'sensitivity bug' missed you bunch.

I greased the hell out of my axle sticks, bike jacked up on a pillow and everything, and I don't really feel any difference.

F'in LOL....

Can't find a cross screwdriver. I have one that's shaped like a menorah, will that do?

Don't be mechanically racist. You should have at least cross, a menorah, a crescent and a 6-armed elephant god screwdriver in your culturally inclusive toolkit.

Thanks for the bump. Sticky would be better.

And all these tools are delivered by a three legged camel.

Nice bump CG. This is hilarious. I was like cross screwdriver, wait, what?

I am off to get a pillow, sheet of plywood, and sell my stands.

Waiting patiently for the Youtube video of this.....

Naw, in the land of the pegassus, $20 for a webcam is a ripoff. We're all big time suckers for getting GoPros LOL

This thread was epic, I'm putting Pegasausage on my watch list to see what words of wisdom are spouted next.

Never mind the hogwash of buying "stands" worth hundreds of bucks and special lifting devices to work on your bikes, I have picked up a few things I have taught myself.

I had not "maintained" my bike for at least 14 months, the battery was water-less, the chain had initiations of what looked like rust, I could barely take off the gas cap of my tank (hard as hell) and my brakes (front and back) were finished. Tonight I gave my bike a complete tune-up, right inside my apartment's livingroom :)

These are the things you will need to commence Pegassus Bike Workshop 101:

1. Simple tools, screwdriver (flat and cross), a hammer, 2 adjustable wrenches and a flashlight.

2. A newspaper so you can use the sheets as a carpet so you won't stain your carpet/wooden floor.

3. A car lift-jack just like you see in the pics below, they are $29.99 at Canadian Tire.

Look at the pics below and learn how to properly grease your bike and give it basic maintainence.

Ummm... let me know when you post the youboob video k peggaboo. ;-)

How long did it take you to ride a motorcycle.

I was 15 when I learnt and it took me only 30 minutes but I had one advantage: I already knew how to drive shift-stick vehicles all by myself in the backroads of Houston,Texas.

I almost killed myself today.

I was out today and coming into an on-ramp I thought I would test my new bike's handling and accelerated to about 65 km/h and started to lean down and then "Rissshhhhhh!!" something in my bike hit the pavement and started to drag, I immediately pulled up but was only 2/3 out of the curve and mounted the low island and dashed across highway 11 lanes, luckily no cars on highway 11 at that moment.

If there would had been guardrails or a ditch I would be in a hospital right now with my bike destroyed. The leaning threshold on my bike sucks (Kawasaki ZR7 750cc). Im still trying to figure out if it was my muffler or my footpeg that hit the pavement, they are both scratched under them. Is this normal? I was nowhere near dragging my knee.
