LOL... It takes a while for helmet linings to compress to fit. Not just 1 minute.
Maybe this thread should be renamed to newb urban myths? ;-)
Please tell me you're trolling. If their head is large enough to compress the hard foam (damaging the helmet), I don't know how they even got it on.
I've never had a problem with scratches on my visor. I just wipe/scrub it with wet paper towel or toilet paper.

When you are at a light, don't forget to hit the rev limiter a few times. It helps keep drivers around you at bay.

Used both and it's fine. Wouldn't want to use the lower ones without some water, though.
But I've also noticed a difference between the very durable 3mm visor on my Shark RSR2 vs the thin flimsy one on my Scopion EXO1000. It seems like the Scorpion will scratch much more easily but I haven't used it too much yet.
Depends on the visor. I used soft paper towels and scratched the crap out of a Pinlock visor insert, which is softer than a regular visor. I generally keep scraps of old cotton/poly t-shirts around for the purpose now.

not good at the roadside... I drag the helmet and visor across the tarmac until the bugs are gone. That's only a semi-pro tip, thinking of going pro next year.

Go buy a pack of microfiber rags at crappy tire. Little w index diluted with water. Spray visor. Give it ten seconds wipe off with rag. How hard is this concept? Anything abrasive is going to scratch the visor. I even have a rag and small spray bottle in the back of my bike for long rides in the middle of nowhere.

I use lens cleaners (the sprays you get from optical shop for glasses). Bought a bottle for $2.50 at Target in the states, been using it since with the microfibre cloth sold at CT (I carry one in a ziploc bag).
I think as long as you soak the air-dried buggers for a good couple of minutes, you'll be okay with any paper towels during your pit stops. For personal preference, I'd stay clear of the brown paper towels as much as possible.
