Best waterproof jacket / pants for a sport bike

no, that's not true. And besides, I'm looking for 4 season gear that keeps you dry but doesn't make you sweat your ass off in the dry. On a sunny day, it sucks getting wet.
okay, I'll rephrase that

after 40 years of riding and buying countless garments
still a closet full and most has been given away
I've yet to find a single piece of rain gear that doesn't suck
I'm talking about all day rides in all day rain
you're going to be wet, and sweaty if it's warm

not saying don't get any, it is better than nothing
but I'd put gear money into decent cold weather stuff instead

I’ll add that IMO there isn’t any really good 4 season gear. You’re going to want different apparel to use across the varying conditions

Agreed - all day rain, you need to accept getting wet. It's still better than being in a car, IMHO.

I rode to Thunder Bay from Newmarket last August and the September a couple years before that. Preparing for the variety of the weather that ride faces is what I am trying to combat.

We rode to Manitoulin last week from Newmarket - for the ride there, it was half sunny 25 degrees, half rain and 17 degrees.
Day 2 - 28 and sunny.
Day 3 - 13 and drizzle.
Day 4 - 18 and rain.
Day 5 - half 15 and dry, half 24 and rain
Day 6 - sunny and 24 degrees.

That was as close to 4 seasons as I want on a 6 day ride and I sure as Hell can't bring different apparel to use across the varying conditions, nor can I go back to my closet and grab a different jacket depending on the weather. I have 5 jackets and 3 pairs of paints, along with a full set of track leathers. I am sure good 4 season gear exists - I'm not paying $2500 for a suit though - hopefully the stuff I just got for half that price works!!

I appreciate your comments, thank you - but I was looking for what waterproof gear you ride on your sportbike with.

I'm currently looking into a Joe rocket phoenix 13 and Olympia airglide 5 as it has the in or out rain liner. Hoping to keep the price lower.. Anyone have tried these?
I have a Phoenix 4 and an Airglide 5. I prefer the Airglide by a large margin. Neither has been crash tested.
I swapped between the Airglide and a Scott set of rain jackets/pants on the way down to Alabama when necessary.
Always nice to throw on something dry in the morning, unless it rains three days in a row.

The rain liner that came with the old Phoenix 4 was like a plastic sauna suit.

FWIW, I picked up some Alpinestars gear. A Bogota Drystar jacket and a pair of Alpinestars BRYCE Gore-Tex pants. I'll be looking for rain the next time I get the chance.

Shouldn’t be too hard this summer. Seems extra wet to me this year.

I picked up a frogg togg jacket whenever this thread started, and it has been pretty decent keeping the rain out. One problem is that the material is fluffing up a bit now after 10? use. When the hood is folded in, it's very bulky around the neck area making shoulder checks annoying. Would be nice if the hood is thinner so I could even wear it under my helmet rather than helmet off THEN undo the hood.

A friend recently gave me his Joe Rocket Ballistic series jacket, which is nice for colder weather as it covers your butt (well, when standing). Does anyone have one of these and can comment on how rainproof the fabric is?

That's the jacket I had 10 years ago and it was great. If it says waterproof, it is waterproof.
