Older models were.. they seem to have had quite a few issues with current models in which their predecessors were much more reliable. (and less ugly)

No I don't but they're on my list as a next purchase. I've worked with German cars for a long time and just get a kick out of all the lemon reports. I'd drive German before any north american heap any day of the week.
