Best places to eat on a ride

If we are talking about places you can find on pretty much any ride on this continent, I'll have to go with Subway. Fast enough, filling enough, comfortable enough, healthy enough, available almost everywhere. I especially liked the fact that I could fill my hydration pack with ice for free on my way out during my overheated ride through US last July.

I'm with y'all. Been to Johnny's once and haven't been back since; there are plenty of burgers in and around the GTA that put theirs to shame.

I agree. Not originally being from the GTA, all I ever heard from everyone was how good Johnny's was. When I finally got around to having a burger there it was "WTF, this is a plain old flat patty on an oversized bun." Needless to say with all the hype I had heard I was definitely not impressed.

These are all very good for a burger:

Pickering: Big M south on Liverpool Rd
Pete's Superburger in plaza NW corner of Liverpool/Hwy 2

Ajax: Texas Burger Harwood just south of #2 on East side

All of these make their own patties not some prepackaged crap

Burgers and other typical Canadian/American foods are so boring. Gotta branch out man. I'm a white guy who grew up on burgers and fries, but in the last 5 years i have worked as a delivery guy working all across the GTA so i have been exposed to a wider variety of places. The great thing is we live in such a diverse city where you have every other kind of food known to man all within reach. There are so many good indian and caribbean restaurants across the GTA. Give me some Roti or Jerk Chicken, or a good Shawarma over a burger any day. Or if chicken is your thing have some Portuguese churrasqueira instead of typical boring Swis Chalet. There is so much more flavour in the foods of other cultures. Since opening my eyes to that stuff i haven't eaten in a greasy burger joint in over 5 years. :)

Here's a list of some of my favs:
Alberts Real Jamaican: 542 St. Clair Avenue West at Vaughan
Willys Jerk: Jane & Wilson (in North York Sheridan Mall, just watch your back in this area! lol)
Karaikudi South Indian Cuisine: 1225 Kennedy Road (awesome $10 all you can eat buffets)
The Real Jerk: 709 Queen Street West at Broadview (just closed but reopening in a new location soon)
Ali Baba's: Various locations all over the city
Churrasquiera BBQ & Grill: 1176 The Queensway (near Islington)
Buddha's Vegetarian Kitchen: 666 Dundas Street West (yeah, veggies are good too!)

ok i will throw a couple more typical canadian food places, just because they're good....
New Toronto Fish & Chips (aka 5th Street Fish & Chips): 146 Fifth Street near islington/lakeshore
5 Guys Burgers & Fries: 2150 Burnhamthorpe Road West Mississauga (make a good veggie sandwich if you are vegetarian)

So you suggest inducing a bit of ring-sting to make the motorcycle seat an even better experience?

Without a doubt the best place to eat on a ride is anywhere 300 KMs from home! Any closer and you need to ask yourself "am I a rider, or am I a diner?". Then get back on the bike and keep going....

Any decent Shawarma places you know? (east end?)

I edited my earlier post to include some places i like. For shawarma i usually went to Ali Baba's, there are several of them from east to west. I think they have 2 for 1 tuesdays still. A lot of places i go to i just know by passing by but can't recall their names and exact locations unfortunately lol. We just got used to knowing when we were in an area that there was a place we liked and would find them visually when we drove by.

Burrito Boyz, California Sandwiches, and if you want a heart attack Smokes's Poutinerie

I find mucho burrito to be much better quality than burrito boys. California sandwiches is delicious. Although the San Franchescos on Britania between terry fox and mavis is a little bit better.

If you want a good shawarma go to osmows http://www.mrosmow.com/#/contact-us/4534266277

I agree with the above, the stuff that is really delicious will make the trip much more exciting. Whats more exciting than being on the highway only to realize you entered yourself in a race to see if you can find a place to ***** before you go in your pants.

The King's Palace

AMAZING INDIAN FOOD!

24hrs, very tasty butter chicken, Full Combo's under $12. Can't go wrong.
Thanks to Silverbullet for finding this place! I ate here twice a week after first going there.
