I personally think the chest mount works the best. Just use the multi-angle attachment so that you can easily vary the angle of the camera as you ride.
Another set-up that works well is to mount the GoPro on the end of a boom arm which is in turn mounted to your bike. The boom arm absorbs the vibrations very well. I used Ram mount products to make mine: an 18" rod with two "cup" connectors on each end. I had a ball mount on the GoPro and a ball mount on the side mirror mounting bolt.
The suction cup can fall off, especially in warm weather. I have two friends who lost their GoPros that way. I'd use a tether just in case.
