Best deal on 60" TV???

For the most part, I would agree, but it still pays to do research. Even the premium brands put out stinkers once in a while.

This Panny was given the "AVOID" rating.....

Yeah I tend to stay away from the cheap base models from ANY manufacturer.

Panasonic's base model used to be good performance for value, but the X series is junk. Not really sure what they were thinking on that one. Same with the Sony BX series. The 32" is genuinely the worst TV I have ever seen in recent memory.

Holding out for OLED. They are as big a leap forward as LED was from CRT. Maybe the last big leap in TV tech for a long time (I'm not expecting 4K or 8K will have much content or distribution for a decade or more).

In a few years, OLEDs will be affordable and you'll be crying about your crappy LED.

Everyone on GTAM is an expert! lol

im finding as I just bought a large tv for a second home and am replacing the one here with probably a 60", as long as I dont have to look at 5 different tv's at the same time to see a difference, once its in my house I dont see a bad picture quality. Its just fine for me.

I watch a bit of tv and like movies, and the vizio i bought for the cottage playing blueray movies looks good to me.

Best price and return policy is Costco. You have to be on your toes as stock and models change. Yes, they do stock some discontinued stock but, they do get excellent stuff too.

The size the the room and placement should determine screen size. 55" can typically satisfy most applications with a good quality product and in the price point the op is looking at. My preference is Samsung.

highly recommend going 55". you can get a pretty serious 55 for under 1400 tax in.

Samsung led, thin series 6. they are stunning. 60" under 1000$ you are going to have a really really ****** picture. Any fast motion will look terrible.
At that size 240hz is a must. 50-55 you can deal with a samsung series 5 120hz no problem. for the price they are spectacular.

I got my 55 series 5 3d led with no bezel (all screen), they were 1699, i got it for 1400 tax in with glasses.

if you want to drive to scarborough futureshop, i know a guy.

do what i did go to future shop negociate them down on a price and ask for it in writing and tell them u wanna think of it then go to best buy and ask them if they can beat it and if you really feel like trying your luck when best buy gives you a price go back to future shop and do the same thing

Good luck with that....
They aren't stupid. The Price match policy says "Advertised" price.
