Famous Sam's at Woodbine and Stouffville Rd, just off of the 404. And on Sunday mornings you'll see a LOT of bikes. Park around the back for the best spots.
We don't go to Sam's for the quality of food; oily, but it's OK and it's fast. The convenience factor is why it got chosen by the club that used to go to Ringwood (48 and Stouffville). Shortly after the migration, Sam's suggested the back lot for bikes only so it didn't interfere with cars out front and it works better that way. The Harley riders still feel the need to ostracize themselves and park up by the Convenience Store. BTW, the Ringwood restaurant had crappy service attitude and ho-hum food. It's location, location, location when there are 30 plus bikes converging from up to 2 hours away each week and looking for space.
Personally I get more excited at the idea of the Wimpy's in Uxbridge or Daybreak at Davis and Leslie in Newmarket for the food and keep it comin' darlin' coffee.
CORA'S IS YUPPY CRAP.
Cora's in Newmarket delivered me and a woman friend the worst breakfast EVAH. Four years later we're still talking about it. We were not riding but came in a car.
Waitress walked by us half a dozen times without dropping off a menu or offering coffee.
Food took forever to arrive and we barely poked at it with forks.
Eggs Bennie had one runny egg and the other was like the inside of a golf ball. The asparagus garnish was black for half its length, tucked under the eggs.
My sausages were tough skinned and overcooked and wrinkly. Sliced Potatoes (not done like home fries) were sour, undercooked and with burned edges. And so on.
It was grim if not disgusting so we asked to have it all returned and we had no time to wait for a re-order ... big delay until the waitress came back. Here's the kicker...
Waitress: "You don't have to pay. And take these vouchers from Cora's." (normal so far. Most restaurants want you back)
"Go to the front and use them to pay for the meal"
Me: "So we're not eating your food and you won't make us pay?"
Waitress: "That's correct."
Me: "This doesn't add up. We still owe about $5.00 according to this receipt"
Waitress: "That's for the coffee. You didn't complain about the coffee."
The manager didn't have the balls to come to the front after a long wait and we had to get on with our work day. I figure telling this story 100 times to any persons within a half hour of Newmarket will start to make us even.
