I'm a financially responsible young millennial. Newly married and moving to the big city, makes sense to save up for that house, right? Or maybe a family car to replace my 13 year old Sentra.

Or, hear me out - a new bike to go on adventures two up with the lady-friend

At least it was used, 2021 model with 10k km.

I can honestly say that this bike is amazing. There was definite bad wind buffeting with the stock shield (I'm 5'7"), but the Madstad has mostly solved that. It's also way prettier in person than I had expected, especially in red. Beyond that, the engine is addicting, quickshifter is so good, the bike handles incredibly and is super comfortable to boot. Great for two up touring if you're not massive people.

I sold my old CB650R with a heavy heart after putting on almost 20k km, but still have the Zero for now. It remains to be seen what I end up doing with it...Depends on how much mileage I can reasonably put on it.

I think this steed will serve me well on the long flat runs out to the twisties. Can't wait to go on some trips with her, and hope to join you guys on some group rides this year too!

congrats!

Very nice congrats! How do you find getting on such a tall beast? I’m 5’7 also.

You won’t regret it.
I have a 2021 T9 GT as well.
It’s my 2nd Tracer and I love it.

I’m the same height as you and I find shorter windshields reduce the wind buffeting. I run an MRA Sport shield on mine.

There are currently 2 recalls on the ‘21 model.
You should check with your dealer if they have been done on your bike or not.

Any questions about this bike, don’t hesitate to ask!

Congrats and nice bike! Is this the successor to the FJ09?

Yep.
Yamaha upgraded and renamed the FJ09 in 2018/2019 - depending on where in the world you live to the Tracer 900 and 900 GT. Again in 2021 they completely re-designed and renamed it to the Tracer 9 and 9 GT. The 2021-22 bikes are only available in the GT version in North America.

That triple engine is amaze balls.

It's actually super manageable! I have long-ish legs, but with my boots on, I can flat foot in the lower seat!

That's a beauty!! I was seriously looking at that screen but somehow got convinced to go for the Madstad, which is brilliant. I think I will run it screen-less in the summer :)
I had both recalls done before picking up the bike!
