I need to change a rear wheel bearing ASAP. I don't have time to wait for a dealer order, plus I read that bearing for a bearing supplier are cheaper and higher quality than honda bearings or aftermarket replacement like all balls. Anyone know a good bearing supplier in the GTA?

Canadian bearing will have it in stock if its a standard bearing, so will Motion Canada. Where are you located?

Milton but I work downtown. I don't really care if I have to drive a bit to get them, I just want the best bearings.

Best bearings vs. right bearing for your application is two different things......you don't need a high abec bearing for your wheels, you will need one manufacted by reputable mfg. Like SKF....NMB, NHBB .....something not made in china....But that might be hard for a standard bearing.

All balls sources Chinese bearngs - but they aren't bad. For the price you pay for a all balls kit, you will get all the necessary dust seals in the kit for under $50/wheel - if not less.

do you know the bearing number,, if you google it, you might find it at different supply places... and it makes it easier to ask at the counter at Canadian Bearing as well.. ,my bike uses Lm11949 / LM11910 , which can be found as a trailer axle bearing as well as a number of other automotive uses.. so the price for the same bearing can vary considerable.. but it could be the same quality..

If the OP goes to CB or any one like that....the OP will need to either have sizing information or bearing numbers. They will not have motorcycle bearing info.

Another good reason to go OEM or aftermarket set.

What bike exactly do you need wheel bearings for?

I have had problems with some Honda OEM bearings in the past, as Honda has some custom sizes that are made specifically for them and are not available from anyone else but Honda. Even when I called the very familir manufacturer they told me they only make those for Honda and to get those sizes I have to order from Honda...

Other then that its pretty simple, most Japanease sport bikes use common brand name and size bearings from companies like NTN, NSK, et etc. Most commonly a 6000 series bearing for wheels with rubber seals. And you will save a few bucks each over buying from Honda, although Honda usually has good prices on these so you wont be saving a bundle...

Thx for the good info everyone.

I need the bearing for the CBR F2 rear wheel. Hopefully it's not one of the custom ones.

There shouldn't be any special measurements right? I just need to match the inside, outside and width. I have a caliper and a micrometer.

You dont need to measure because its a standard 6000 series bearing, the rear wheel on an F2 uses 2 6204UU bearings. The 6204 code will determine the right size, and the UU means it has 2 rubber seals...

There is also a bearing in your cush drive, but Honda does not list the size or code on the fiche only a part number. SO for that one you will have to try and read the code off the bearing or measure the size..

I see. Looking on a websitr the cush drive drive bearing is listed as "BEARING, RADIAL BALL (62/22)" is 62/22 The size?

No thats what I see and it does not relate to any bearing size charts that I am familiar with.

62/22 would not be enough info anyways as there are 3 dimensions that are required to make up the right bearing, OD, ID and width

If you pry out the seal, you should be able to read the small writing on the lip of the races, or from the inside if you remove it from the wheel

Usually people dont change the cush drive bearing with the wheel bearings but its a good idea to change them all as a set

If you pop off the

Just look at the bearing, it will have itching on the side of it.....that's the best way to figure out what you have. And if you are buying all sealed bearings....then you can re-use the stock dust shields and not cause issues.

SKF canada is not suppose to sell direct to end use, they are suppose to let their distributors handle that part of their business.

You can get around that if you have a business, I use $600 ceramic SKF bearings in my CNC machine spindles if I buy direct, if I go through a distributor the mark up is crazy! They just dont want to be selling to the every day off the street person

Well if the wheel bearing is a 6204....then the sprocket carrier would have a 20MM ID....his OD should be easy enough to find/measure....IF its a standard, it would be 20x47x14 or 20x42x12 or 20x52x15.

IF it is a standard bearing...then the OD would dictate the width....

If it is just one set of $600 ceramic spindle bearings, they shouldn't be doing that......but I know what you mean. I see this industry from both sides.

From my understanding its not about the price of what you want to buy, its about having to set up an account and be paid via check upon receipt of a bill received in the mail after the part has already been obtained. The every day end user would want to pay cash/debit and pick the part up that day, and it just doesn't work like that with such a large company....I could buy a $10 bearing or a $1000 bearing, they will ship it under my account that I have set up with them and bill me later....
