A buddy and myself will be doing a ~300km ride this coming Saturday Aug 11th up towards the Kawarthas.

I realize Just_luc and Boooya are gone away for the week but figured I would post up regardless in case anyone was interested.

We would like to meet at the Wild Wing in Brechin (40 mins from Barrie via Orillia) at 9:00AM and leave no later then 9:30.

The ride will be friendly for all bikes.

There is a new BBQ Shack in Gooderham that we should hit up around 1PMish for a quick bite and then head back. http://www.smokinjakesbbqshack.com/

If there is anyone experienced at leading group rides please feel free to lead. *ahem* kamikaze *ahem*

Jeff,

I'd strongly suggest you remove the route from your post. You can give a general outline of where you'll be heading, but we've found that posting the actual route results in uninvited guests in black and white cars setting up camp along the route..

Oh and if your planning the ride your probably best to lead it at your own comfortable pace, and no worries about posting routes unless you plan on riding faster then the law enforces. If your keeping is legal then no worries ;).

This. Besides, I wouldn't be comfortable leading a ride on a route that I've never been on, especially with folks that I've never rode with before. It's nothing personal, just like to know who I'm riding with and where I'm going. I checked out the route, the only part that concerns me a little is that northern loop (Watts trail), there's no way to tell if that's paved or not unless someone here knows for sure that it is.

No offense taken as I understand your concerns.

I have never lead a 'group' ride before and would not feel comfortable leading a large group.

I also have never ridden this specific route before but have heard that Watts trail is paved.

If it ends up being just my buddy and myself that's fine as well. :)
 
I might be interested in joining in, would have to confirm later in the week when I know my schedule for the weekend. Have not lead a group before but promise to be a respectful follower and I personally have no need for high speed travel, just want to enjoy the ride and sights! Mmmmm and enjoy lunch! LOL

With the weather the way it is, I will not be hosting this ride nor showing up if anyone was planning to join.

Apologies in advance to those that expressed interest.
 
Anyone want to go riding Wednesday evening? In the Wasaga Beach area?

My tires haven't been replaced yet, not until Monday, so I don't want to go too far.
