Banks and exchange rates

Banks make a nice spread, so it sucks for consumers.
Credit cards are usually 2.5%, which isn't too bad. The independent currency places are also slightly better than your bank.


I don't know which bank you are talking about, but when I asked Desjardins (they have a branch downtown Toronto) they told me they have no fee when you're selling your money to them.
Edit: I just saw you wanted to send money...sorry, forget my reply :D
They don't have a fee, per say, but they still earn commission, if you want to call it that.
