Bandit 650s vs Vstrom 650

Thank you for all the tips. I am also considering the Bandit 1200 / 1250 at this point. I'm 28 so insurance is a factor but I really like low seat height and power.

Best to check the GVWR, i.e. how much weight you can put on the bikes before purchase.
I know that my WeeStrom 650 was set up to take more than the VStrom 1,000 from the same year,
which is quite a lot, I'm not sure how much a Bandit can take.

So - was it really the Bandit 650S that you were looking at and not the GSF650?

They are two different bikes.

Yes the Bandit with the half fairing. I am on a budget and want to spend $4k max and the Bandits can be had at this price range.

I found a 2006 650s model (still carbed / air cooled) that I can get for $3,200. This is a decent deal I think but I wont know if this bike has enough power until I actually ride it.

I had that bike and rode it too much but for that price you can get an older 1200 or for more a 1250.
It's comfortable but can be a little cramped for your passenger. ( my passenger reply comparing it to my blackbird)

I prefer inline 4's and will be biased with the bandit. It will be more comfortable with my passenger ( my dog) less buzzy.

How do air cooled bikes do in the GTA? I had some problems with an older water cooled bike, and had to install a fan switch.

Bandits are oil and air cooled. Never had a problem even in the desert.
