Ballisong Kits

Despite the stupid law regarding ballisongs, has anyone here ordered a kit online across the border and successfully received them? Any issues with customs/ authorities after the fact?

You wanna risk serious criminal charges just for a stupid novelty folding knife..... ?? I'd give it 50/50 making it past customs.

Wanna be the guy testing the whole "But its a kit!" thing in front of a judge, with your livelihood on the line?

Usually about every couple of months there is a small news article about CBSA and local police kicking down somebody's front door after they did a "controlled" delivery of some restricted/prohibited weapon that was intercepted in the mail.
That being said if you can get over the size of it spyderco's spiderfly is pretty cool...

Damn, they need to include this in the next season of Border Security.

Years ago I knew someone who ordered a package from Japan only to suffer the indignity of a controlled delivery followed by a raid on his house. In the scant minutes between the controlled delivery and subsequent police raid, he had already managed to break the sex doll of questionably-young appearance. Also irrevocably broken was his reputation, job, standing in the community. Life for him was over even more than it was for the doll.

Considered a prohibited weapon if I understand correctly...so even if you get it through customs if you ever get busted with it on your possession....have fun.

Can you get an AK47 kit too???

Funny you should ask! I saw a story about building AR-15s yesterday. You can buy everything but the lower receiver by mail order in the US. There is a little CNC mill called the Ghost Gunner available to put the finishing touches on an aluminum receiver blank. It goes on to say that if you are handy with a drill press, you could also finish the lower receiver by hand and save$$$.

You can buy all those things right here in Canada and they're perfectly legal, as they should be.

So othee than the cool factor, or the "illegal therefore desired" factor, whats so great about butterfly knives? My Kershaws all have assisted opening and are 10x better knives, while perfectly legal.

To impress your victim before you stab him and then accidentally cut yourself duh

Ive got a kershaw too. Opens 10 times faster than a butterfly knife would. Never intended on using a butterfly as an EDC.

Why are you so bitter towards an inanimate object... lol. Definitely not something to get worked up over.

Couldn't care less, its just a knife. But its horribly stupid to risk serious criminal charges over one.

Boots spends to much time playing as the SPY in TF2

But seriously they are cool knifes I think the restriction on ownership is kinda dumb if its just in the home.
Used to have one back in the UK but didn't want to risk bringing it from not a good way to start off your new citizenship trial period.
