Firefighters are the biggest ***** around. They think they are better then everyone else, and deserve special treatment.

I call bull sheet. In a lot of plazas the fire lane is one lane of traffic. If a large vehicle is parked in it and you can't see around it, you have to pull in to the opposing lane of traffic to go around it. Unless it's an emergency (like a fire or an injury in the adjacent store) there's no excuse for anyone to park in the fire lane. That includes self entitled firemen buying the week's supply of pretzels.
 
I agree with FMJ 100%. I see people park there even when the lot is empty. Usually running into Mac's to grab smokes/lotto/milk. Pisses me off how some people are so entitled.
The fireman have to shop on duty, so they need to be able to drop everything if there is a call. But our local FD always find a spot in the lot, and never park in a fire route. Unless there is a fire.

Actually, as a (now retired) teacher, I know how it feels. I challenge anyone who thinks it's easy to try.

But firefighters (and senators) do have a good gig. ;)

Fixed it for you. ;)

This truck was facing the wrong direction to go anywhere.
Could have had one person put it into a really nice spot Facing the right way,
and pull it forward if there was a call.

That time

I'd expect that if my house was on fire, the guys would be in the truck, out the door of the station, and on their way in under 60 seconds, not scurrying from the 4 corners of the local No Frills and trying to weave their truck out of a busy plaza parking lot in under 4 minutes. The former is the service we all assume we're paying for, not the latter.

Again not going to carry on the witch hunt but service is not affected regardless of our location or what we are doing outside the station.

it goes to show the general public has no idea how the service is run or how we operate.

I don't feel good about charging other officers. Not because I'm not supposed to, or because of some thin blue line nonsense, but because they really ought to know better.

Yes, you have a badge. Yes I saw it. Even though you kept waving it at me like some rookie cop, you still get the ticket for this one.

Like most people, I don't like getting hassled when I'm doing my job. But being hassled by someone who is supposed to understand what I have to do, is totally uncalled for.
