How bad was the riders luck that they were in a collision with a bicyclist who basically walked away and they died?

CBC – 44 minutes ago....tweet0EmailPrint......A motorcyclist was killed in a Labrador highway collision that also involved a bicycle, police said Thursday.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the motorcycle and the bicycle collided Wednesday morning on the highway outside Churchill Falls.
"The cyclist was taken to the hospital in Churchill Falls and was later released. However, the lone occupant on the motorcycle was pronounced at the scene," the RNC, which polices the area, said in a statement.
Police closed the highway for several hours on Wednesday while investigators collected evidence.
The motorcyclist is not being identified while family are being notified.
