To make a long story as short as possible, many years ago my M2 lapsed after my bike was stolen. It was only last May that I had the money to get a new bike so I re-took RTI's M2 license course and acquired a 2011 GSX-R600. After calling around I finally found a broker who put me onto a policy with Aviva/RBC.
Today. I called RBC to renew the policy and they wouldn't do it. Citing that they can't insure "any operator of a motorcycle licensed less than six years." Since I've only had the M2 for just over a year, this is technically correct. But then... how were they able to put me on the policy in the first place? The guy on the phone straight-up didn't know how I was able to get insured.
Has this happened to you before? What was your solution? I'm in the market for a new provider now...
