August 10th at shannonville

Had a good day, rain held out for most of the day. Not sure who the second person was to crash but it sounded pretty serious hope they're ok.

I think I'm done with track days though, too many variations in speed, combining expert with intermidiate didn't help and I guess I take trying to go fast too serious. One big pet peeve, people were stopping to look at the downed riders, actually almost ran into someone this way, felt like my 401 morning commute, keep going and exit the track!!

Ps. Garyola, your bike smells good! I was behind you for a couple laps enjoying the aroma going through traffic.
Good organizers make all the difference. Serious at a trackday?!, there's no winning, just levels of loss

I'm trying to improve everytime I'm on the bike, it costs me money to turn laps, I'm not rich so I take burning money seriously I guess. I realize that there wasn't enough people for 3 different classes and it was a fundraiser so my money for the day wasn't a loss it went to a good cause. I know there's organizers that have fast regular experts that will make me look silly (pro 6 comes to mind and riders choice) but most of them race too. There's enough race weekends to keep me happy so my money is better spent there instead and I enjoy the atmosphere better.

Pictures are great Beula. Not sure if you would remember, but I bought the 2nd gen SV650 fairings and wheel chock from you several years ago (that bike is long since sold...). I'm on the SV650 #59, my two sons Andrew #121 on his TL1000R, and Trevor #124 on his GSXR600. I'm also the one who crashed and ended up in hospital. No serious injuries, just some bumps, bruises and stitches. Also a pretty good concussion, so I have no recollection of going down or anything else until later in the evening in the Belleville Hospital. If anyone saw the crash, I would greatly appreciate it if they could tell me what appeared to happen, as I'm not anxious to repeat, but don't know what caused it in the first place. I know that my left toe touched down several times before that, not a good feeling. For what it's worth, I had a track marshal show an interest in me and was working on racing lines and going faster, but in the future would ask to just do my own thing, as I had no issues with my previous track days at Shannonville (FAST school on Nelson) and Mosport (full track, full throttle...). Thanks to anyone that could help me understand what happened. BTW, also looking for a complete GSXR front end for my SV (my stock one is toast...)

A friend of mine has some video of the event. I'll see if he minds me posting it up. I wasn't available... :(
