Atgatt

ugh, almost went against my ATGATT rule today, ended up boiling in my leathers. Does any one know how to clean them or at least get the rotting sweat smell out? I don't have any removable lining to wash
Not sure. I'm in the same boat after the past few days...:( I'm looking to hunt down some of the Febreeze for fabric (there's 2 or 3 different kinds of Febreeze) and I'm going to give it a try. Found the room and carpet ones yesterday....but not the fabric one!

Airing them out in a breeze should work. What I found works, for my gloves at least, is keeping them over my a/c vents. Good circulation of cool dry air tends to get rid of the moisture and therefore the smell.
But First you'll need a cotton rag and do a sweep of the insides with some sort of cleansing agent. I've also heard of using cedar chips or activated charcoal in cotton bags to life out the ripe smell but have never tried it myself.

I don't have A/C :(

Just run a table fan through the thing. Should work the same, except that the air won't be as dry.
Or just hang it outdoors. Might want to do that after every ride just so moisture doesn't build up.

If you're leaving it outdoors make sure you have no nasty surprises inside, especially if it's a one piece ..lol.

Could have sworn in the thread about the 9 year old as a passenger you were boasting about never having gone down and riding for more than 30 years... Now you have 25 years experience and have been almost killed and hospitalized???

Interesting that someone that thinks having there child as a passenger is child abuse yet choses not to wear any protective gear for your self...

Lots!!! too many in my teens/20's, hospitalized, almost killed on several occasions/close calls and lost a lot of friends along the way and trust me gear did not save them! if i go down and its a choice to live in a wheel chair or death, i'll take the death, least with no gear should be quick-Ty and i still choose to wear no gear because i ride at my level of comfort and what i am familiar with.old adage: if it aint broke why fix it?" why would i after all these years start wearing gear now and have to re adjust my riding ?

ATGATT? Seriously? Today?? Sigh..I remember when bikers were tough..

If u are ATGATT and u rode today. I say you are a darn liar!!!!!!!!!

+ 1 I love my skin too:) Got to get out of the habbit of wearing all gear and jeans...I have no excuse now that I have textile and leather pants now.

It has nothing to do with age, my bike or skill level...it has EVERYTHING to do with me liking my skin on my body and not on the asphalt! I've had my M for 22 years, I've gone from cruisers to sport bikes and I've always worn full gear. Helmet, gloves, the works. It doesn't matter if you go down slow or in a major crash, asphalt on bare skin is gonna hurt like Hell! I've never, ever ridden with just a T-shirt or shorts, etc. I have on occasion worn jeans..but that's as far as it goes and I rarely do it because frankly, I feel vulnerable when I wear them...they'll shred in a heartbeat :(

Well Sherlock there is a comma in my qoute between Hospitalized & almost killed, not one in the same, almost killed meaning plenty of close calls, dont take out of context-Ty, as for the hospitalized, at 16 i did all my shenanigans at that time, was on the back of buddies bike riding as a passenger and he took us both out in a residential neighborhood and eventually stopped in bedded into someones lawn missing the trees, good time, we both shared the same ER room.

I think Bickle has those hangers with the blow dryer that would help with the smell. I think there was a thread on cleaning leathers too. You can try wearing VNM gear under too, to keep you cool while wearing all your gear.

The tough ones were ATGATT today, but I didn't see any of them.

I went to kahuna, picked up my bike and rode home in full gear. Not bad once I got it going. I could however feel myself slowly roasting under the leather when I'm stuck in traffic.

Yeah only saw 3 bikers on Thursday.
1) tank top and shorts
2) 50 cent Icon vest and t-shirt
3) t-shirt and jeans
I didn't see anyone wearing gear. For those that did "good on you". I just preferred not to ride.

Wore jacket, was roasting inside, thus took it off. Soooo did my first squid day today. It was pleasant. Probably wouldn't do it again unless it was as bad as it was today.

I think I'm the only one crazy enough to be atgatt in this heat, or at least up in Peterborough area

As "The Intimidator" Dale Earnhardt once said, "Dip some rags in kerosene and tie them around your ankles so the ants don't crawl up and eat your candy ***!!" He's dead now..turns out his dislike of safety equipment killed him..dunno where I'm going with this..I think it's the heat..

why oh why do people care about this ATGATT thing??!!! agh!! Each to their own.
