Tri City cycle outlet store in Cambridge down by the old factory works on the west side of the Grand River. New year old stuff at huge discounts usually. Good ride for a outing!

Be weary of the helmets they sell. The vast majority are way past their "sell by" date, in that many manufacturers say 5 years is when a helmet should be replaced. I was looking at some Shark S800s they had that were manufactured in early 2005. No thank you. The other crap they have is GMAX or Zox or some other Chinese garbage you haven't heard of.

I'm not sure why some of you keep repeating this. The 5-year rule of thumb is for a helmet that's being used, and it's nothing but a rule of thumb.

An unused 5-year old helmet is most likely fine. Some manufacturers like Arai merely *recommend* that you toss a helmet 7 years after its manufacture date.

to each their own.. I love riding the islands with no helmet.. I ride locally with a beanie... when I get on the dirt bike.. I use a full face helmet...

I would check out Tri City cycle outlet store in Cambridge and see if they meet your preference ..
I didn't see anything that wasn't legal to wear in that store.. unlike other suppliers that will hand you a DOT sticker to put on the helmet..

I think that FULL face helmets are the only way to protect the part that is most likely to take the hit..
