Im already putting money away for a fridge. Ours is still working but for some stupid reason the ice doesn’t dispense and it just crushes the ice which is super frustrating.

I miss older appliances as they were simple, and worked forever and a day.

friends have Samsung appliances and they’re nothing but code errors and glitches non stop. Basically they all say the same thing about Samsung....’never again’.

Samsung? I had a Samsung dryer a few years ago that we bought new, and within two years it started squealing like crazy. Turns out the idler pulley is just a plastic wheel directly on a metal arm, no bearings, no sleeve, nothing. Over time, the grease wears/dries out, and it ends up being bare plastic on metal. All to save $0.50 on some sort of bearing. Total junk.

That same house had a Samsung side-by-side fridge that had a poorly routed defrost drain hose that would plug and cause ice to build up around the fan that blew cold air from the freezer to the fridge. Required defrosting at least twice a year. Had a mechanic look at it, and he walked in the door, took one look, and said to toss the fridge. Known issue, and impossible to fix because the drain hose is buried in insulation.

Needless to say, I avoid Samsung appliances now. Not that anyone makes anything reliable anymore. And they change models and design annually so it's impossible to track reliability. No consumer item has degraded more in quality over the last 40 years than large appliances. Not everything was better in the 'good old days', but Inglis and Viking appliances sure were...
Yep, the belt on mine melted through the plastic pulley. Got rid of the matching washer when they recalled them and went to LG which has been rock solid for 4-5 years now knock on wood.

Identical problem. Mine was nice enough to make a racket first, probably bought another couple years of use.

It's almost like it's a design flaw...

This just happened, greased that F'er back up and all good :)
I even ordered a new pulley thinking the current one had a siezed baring, imagine my surprise when I found out there never was any type of bearing.
New part is sitting in the drawer.

I’m sure many can relate lol

Can’t find a stupid shower head because it’s bronze....I say let’s get SS as it’s available and looks nice ...

‘But it doesn’t match the sink 5ft away’ ... ugh I just want a stupid shower head. Love my wife but this is frustrating.

@mimico_polak - just had same thing happen to my LG front load washer. At least for mine, it was a pretty easy job. The hardest part was getting the dryer off the top of it, since it's stacked.

This site is a good place to start to figure out wrong - watch the videos under symptoms:

If nothing there, search youtube.

Once you've figured out which parts you need, this place has good prices and between the 3 GTA locations has always had what I needed in stock:
