Apple VS Windows??

 "only" 8gb of ram

Haha, i found it funny too, and wanted to say something.....but too busy reading other things to bother.

The point is.... previous iMacs were upgradeable. The big A is increasingly moving towards non upgradeable products. Interestingly, they will happily sell you a 16g iMac model at the usual apple exorbitant extra charge instead of allowing users to upgrade later, and the 27inch iMac features fully upgradeable RAM anytime a user likes.

People tend to keep their desktops kicking around much longer than their laptops, so upgradability is a big plus.

If you listen closely.... the sound of the drum beat of Apples best days behind them is slowly growing louder.

Does thinner ring a bell.

only 8 gigs of RAM in the 21inch model and you CAN"T upgrade it down the road.

Same reason why I don't like Iphones, you can not add a microsd card for extra storage.

lol... is 16GB not enough? How about 32? 64?
There is absolutely no reason for an SD card.

Why do you have 16gb 8gb should be plenty?
Why do you have a 4 cylinder bike, 2 should be plenty?

I prefer to have options.

Let me help you understand how to use technology:
1. internal is 16gb 4-6gb is used for my local GPS maps meaning I don't need data or wifi to connect for GPS. I have 2 different GPS apps.
2. I take hid def pics and movies
3. I have a dual boot setup meaning I double what the OS needs so 2gb there
4. I still have apps to install
See how you run out of room
external memory up to 64gb
music- in high quality 328+
I keep 1 or 2 movies to watch
instructional videos I download from youtube
ebooks, service manuals, whatever else
Dropbox- I have 16gb there that can synch to my phone meaning I have access to my important files at all times.
I can easily use my phone on any computer as USB hard drive...Iphone needs itunes to access the iphone.

I also have some other cool things but it might hurt your head.

Btw- remove your spare tire from your car, 4 tires are plenty.

I have a 32gb MicroSD in my Galaxy S3 for 48gb (43 usable). I actually had to remove some stuff for the sake of space...I don't see how people get by with an 8gb ipod or iphone unless they're not even coming close to using its full range of services and features. When I had the iphone the only thing that kept me sane was iCloud. Now I'm so done with Apple.

Since I got the Galaxy I also use it for just about everything. MP3, video, camera, GPS, portable programs and applications, notes in class, cloud storage, hotspot, Netflix, etc. etc. etc. I only even use my laptop for gaming now, I don't think its left my room in over a month. In my pocket is what is in essence a highly portable PC. Smaller form factor than a laptop or tablet, just as much power and it gets **** done. 8gb is only enough for people that listen to one playlist over and over and use their phone for angry birds.

I'd be all over the 64gb MicroSD if they were Class 10 and not insanely expensive.

When I started at my current church, they gave me a MacBook Pro. After 3 weeks of using it and finding more and more software not 100% compatible, I asked if it could be returned and I get a PC. The church admin tried it and also switched to a PC. For some things they are great (graphics etc.) but for routine use, they are not worth the $$. For less than half of what it cost, I got an all-in-one with a 23" screen. It will do everything I need, and a bit more.

I declined a laptop as I rarely need a computer outside of the office. When I do, I take my personal Samsung Ultrabook - now that is a slick computer. I switched out the standard hard drive and put in an SSD - holy crap does that thing hum. When SSD prices come down a bit more, I will be switching my home desktop to SSD as well.

Funny you should mention, manufacturers are moving towards 'tire fillers/patchers' instead of a spare tire...

But i'd LOVE to have more than my 16gb... with ALLL the pics, and 720p vids i take
with all the apps i have
etc etc... it just doesnt cut it, which is my only big downside for my Galaxy Nexus.

I was able to change my hard drive in my Dell laptop cause i wanted a bigger one, could do it myself, didnt need to buy a new computer, it prolly helped me keep the same laptop for a little longer instead of giving in to consumerism and wasting a working laptop

Bigger = better ... LOL .... People take 720p videos with their little ****** smartphones ... LOL and they actually think they really need it. Oh yes, because they will edit it and watch it on their 80" TV once a year .... Or how about 8MP cameras .... 99% of people never do anything with the images, accept to swipe their finger on the screen to show a friend they met at the coffee shop.

You're so right... I think imma go get my blackberry curve 8330 and start taking blurry pics and 640x480 blurry vids again, there's no need for better quality on the go. ;)
