Apple, the new VW

Samsung handled the Note 7 thing beautifully.

And the link above shows they are handling the current issue fine as well.

Certainly no back pedaling as we are seeing with the Apple fiasco

Oh my, I haven't charged my 4 year old iPhone in 4 days and I only have 40% charge left, what shall I do  do you think I need to replace the battery or just charge it for like all of 20 minutes.

Just download the latest iOS "update" then report back...

Why the heck would I want to put the latest iOS on a 4 year old device that has always worked perfectly :/ do you take me for an idiot :lmao:

Hey, at least you can still *get* updates on a 4 year old handset, unlike a lot of Androids that are abandoned and forgotten about by their manufacturers inside 12-18 months and stuck on whatever out of date/insecure version of Android you were left holding the bag with.

...and apparently you CAN replace the battery ;)

They tried to pull that on Ed Russell out of Niagara. Lawyers were unleashed. He now has his own airfield and a fleet of planes which include a Mk II Spitfire and the only airworthy ME-109 in existence.

Cool. Thx.

It looks like he sold the spitfire to Peter Monk and it was crashed in 2015. They planned on returning it to flying condition.

What gets my goat with Apple, is the commercial where the daughter is so stupid, she doesn’t know what a computer is. Not sure if it could be called sexist, racist or ageist, but kids are clearly not that stupid.

Comparing a software patch with a phone that may spontaneously combust in your pocket. You're a prize.

Get your facts straight sonny
Note7 was introduced August 2016 and by September sales were suspended, then a limited recall was announced, affected units were exchanged and the replacement units also subsequently caught fire. By October of that same year a world-wide recall of the Note7 was announced. How is that a thing of beauty!
Fiasco means "a thing that is a complete failure, especially in a ludicrous or humiliating way"
The introduction and complete failure clearly belongs to introduction of the Note7 <- Fiasco

The Apple innovative iPhone technology was introduced on June 29, 2007
Everything that came after that is a knock-off.

lol, 'glitch' or intentional deception? Call it what you want.

as usual, the market speaks. Samsung profits went up 50% after the Note 7 issue. The Note 8 was released, and the reviews are glowing. Life goes on.

As for Apple, they just cut their forecast for iPhone X shipments, their suppliers stocks are tanking, and they predict a slower season of iPhone sales.

Which sparks the original post of this thread, no question in my mind this was done to spur iPhone sales, or wait, it was to "keep their customers happy" right? uh huh.

In the meantime, enjoy your aging "bionic" processor iPhone......

Not an apple fanboy. However, my household does have two iPads and my work phone is a 7.

All work exceptionally well.

We have a surface tablet that is parked due to glitches.

A couple of cheap Samsung tablets that had charging issues and left the kids without something for days at a time.

My lady had a Samsung 5 I believe and now on her second LG. Not sure the model.

Other than losing the headphone jack converter and having to pay $ at an airport, the apple products serve us well and hold up well.

They work. Easy to use.

Only annoyance is not being able to screen mirror from my phone to our Samsung TV.

I have no love for either Windows or Apple but I've got one word for you. Security......

by the way, in case you were wondering....

Samsung also doesn't throttle CPU performance with older batteries, but its answer was much longer:

Product quality has been and will always be Samsung Mobile's top priority. We ensure extended battery life of Samsung mobile devices through multi-layer safety measures, which include software algorithms that govern the battery charging current and charging duration. We do not reduce CPU performance through software updates over the lifecycles of the phone.

Windows 10 is a huge drawback. What a disaster it is. Slowly it is reverting back to desktop form.
end arguement.
Maybe you didn't invest in a good laptop. My windows 10 works super fast in my spectre HP laptop. Or stop watching porn on it :)
