Anyone using Plasti-dip????

Re: Plasti dip experience, anyone used this stuff on fairings?

I did a side panel that was mismatched to my bike - black Plasti-Dip over bright red plastic. The black is really more of a dark gray, but other than that I have no complaints. Being able to peel it off and redo it as needed is a huge plus.

Re: Plasti dip experience, anyone used this stuff on fairings?

Thinking of doing my wheels in white on the 600RR. All the plastics are white and red. Anyone know where to get it in Canda that is not overpriced?

Plasti-dip prank

what type of finish is it? Will vinyl numbers/lettering stick to it? Or is it too rough

yes it will without a problem.

Maybe a dumb question, but do you need the register the colour change if using plastidip? Anyone know what percent of your bike can be changed without registering it? Thinking of doing all my plastics black but leaving my tank red (versys, so not a lot of plastic).

I can't see how it won't peel when you put the sticker on with the pre mask, you pull the pre mask off, the sticker remains. I bet the plasti would peel off with it

A lot of work for a prank lol.

I noticed that Part Source started carrying Plastidip a while ago. And a couple of weeks ago I was strolling down the paint section at Canadian Tire and saw an entire end-shelf full of the stuff. Nice to know it can be easily found in Canada now except the price ($25 per can) is about 4 - 5 times more expensive than in the US :(

Buy it from the guys on Kijiji.

Depending on what colour your looking for you can get it as low as $12 a can.

He's asking if he can put a sticker on top of the plasti-dip... That's not a problem.

You do know how stickers are applied right ? You should look into the process before giving advice ;)

I don't think you know what stickers are IF you say you can't apply stickers on top of Plasti-Dip... Have you tried it? NO? Maybe you shouldn't give advice about stuff you know nothing about. BTW, I have vinyl stickers ON TOP OF PLASTI-DIP on my bike... and it's not a problem.

Here's a thread of people who actually know what they are talking about.

 That's exactly what I did last year. Turns out the guy on kijiji runs an auto accessories shop at Vic Park & O'Connor. Still double the US cost but what can you do. It's just too bad you can't find it for a reasonable price at a convenient retailer.

plasti-dipped Big Rig?
